It's possible he just likes hip-hop enough to give it all a chance, and not pretend to have better things to do.

I dunno, I'll see what he says.

I'm just honest with myself. If you're feeling that Tony D, which I personally think is straight ass, that's cool. I'm just guessing that you haven't actually heard the Fabolous track I cited, anyway. It came out before his first album, before he went limp and before he dropped the "Sport" from his name. I don't even listen to dude, but it was a good performance. But yeah, Tony drops hot lines like "Solid funky from the flamin caucasian". So you win.

And if Luda never spit anything that interesting in my opinion until he jumped on a track with "the queen of crunk", so be it.

Heres maybe my fav verse ever:

Run's House:

ah, once again my firend
not a trend for then
they said, rap was crap
but never had this band
(Jay kicks in...)till the ruler came
with a cooler name
make ya dance and prance and draw the fans to stades
name is Run my son
number one for fun
not a gun that's done and get done by none
the others act in fact ya just wack i kill
[DMC] why?
[RUN] because its fun my son and Run heads the bill!

Try to read through that and not sing along.

They Call Us Run DMC, from the same album, is pretty nice too. I think it's just as underacknowledged as Groove To The Sound and Bob Your Head.

Heh, me putting down Tony D was a little joke. Its nice that you picked it up, because I can bet 98% of the people that read it didnt know who he was. I'm not a fan of the one "that has more flavor than stove top stuffin'". I'm just a fan of his crappy single and even worse video.

Anyhoo, you can like pop-rappers... whatever. I'm not slighting you for it. I was just sayin'.

Groove to the Sound makes BFH worth buying........i think Big L's was the best mc to come out in the past 10 years or so.......RIP.....his freestyles were amazing!!!

"i only roll with originators/chicks stick to my dick like magnets on refrigerators"

this is a spill over from the '2 words' thread....but Big L was better then jayz, rakim, nas and krs combined!!!!

Better punchline rapper, yes. He couldn't tell stories, though (The Heist was seriously eh). Plus he definitely wasn't the most versatile rapper ever and he didn't really have the best voice.

The Ma$e verse is seamless. You'd be lying to yourself if you listened to it and said it was trash.

The Everlast track was all freestyled. I think it's pretty nice.

I'd like to add Mista Grimm on the track Indo Smoke, Dres on Black Sheep's La Menage and GZA and Meth on Shadowboxin'.
