View Full Version : Oingo Boingo
I'm listening to some of their cd's after not hearing them for over 15 years since all my stuff of theirs was on vinyl. It's so fun.

I love how all you youngin's have to bring your older siblings into this...
The children of today just don't know what they're missin'...

"What would you two little maniacs like to do first?"
A line purred by hottie Kelly LeBrock in the movie Weird Science (http://imdb.com/title/tt0090305/), *another* classic 80s teen film by John Hughes, with title music by Oingo Boingo (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=5015721&style=music&cart=279497845&BAB=M).

Off topic crap!
BTW: if you live in Houston & like to support independent music stores, Soundwaves (http://soundwaves.com/surf.asp?pageID=surf) in Montrose has been selling these 20th Century Masters Series like the above for SEVEN dollars apiece the past month, and though I can't remember if an Oingo disc was there, they must have had about 50 titles all the way from 60s material to the late 80s. Then in another rack, another set of CDs (both sets are from various Universal Music labels) were all priced at nine dollars & had titles like Weezer, Beck, and a bunch of other pretty recent major titles. I bought Beck's Midnight Vultures. I wanted to get the Parliament $7 CD but ran out of $$$ after buying a Simple Minds album, Once Upon A Time (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=5930229&style=music&cart=279497845&BAB=E) (I'm trying to catch up on my new wave tunes I missed out on while I was a prog rock snob back then :) ).
Though I did buy a few synth pop records despite what my buddies thought, like for example: Thomas Dolby's Golden Age Of Wireless (has "She Blinded Me With Science"); all The Cars albums, The Motels' Little Robbers (includes "Suddenly Last Summer" but most of the rest of the album rocks a lot harder); Missing Persons' Spring Session "M", and Naked Eyes' self-titled album (has "Promises Promises"). I also now own one of Rhino Records many new wave sampler CDs.
