vegenaise > mayo

cosmo105
10-24-2005, 01:25 PM
it's not just tofu. it's vinegar and other stuff. seriously, even non-veggies like it because it's cholesterol free. i don't even like mayo and i like this stuff on my sandwiches. it's worth a try.

TurdBerglar
10-24-2005, 01:27 PM

I noticed something strange about some of the vegetarians I know.

If the food is excellent to me and others, it is cum in your pants excellent to them.
If the food is good to me and others, it is excellent to them.
If the food is alright to me and others, it is really really good to them.
If the food is not good to me and others, it is good to them.
If the food is vomit worthy, it is alright to them.

Because of this, I never take vegetarians recommendations unless it comes from 2 other vegetarians I know.

As curious as I am about vegenaise, I can't truss it because of the crazy vegetarian taste buds. But goddamn am I curious.

Seriously, how fucked up can our system get. We have a government that has been, more as of late, stressing healthy living. Since I've been starting to pull down some cash that I can actually save, I've been buying organic goods. But what about the people who can't afford it? Shit, a bottle of organic ketchup is the same price as a 3 piece meal at KFC. Fucking stupid.

seriously. i'm living in an apartment now, and we've been doing our own grocery shopping. "good" food is way too expensive, so we bought 12 boxes of macaroni and cheese for 4 dollars. it's amazing, it's cheaper than ramen noodles. you can taste the savings. i haven't taken a dump in three days, but i've saved so much money!

Farmer's markets and such offer a viable alterantive to overpriced natural foods stores; but not meny people are within striking distance of those.

I also despise the fact that if you're poor and need assiastance, unless it comes in food stamps or cash, you get the crappiest, least healthy foods of all for filling. It's awful: SPAM, artificial mac 'n cheese, saltines, Hornell chilli, etc. Nasty.

I'm sorry Cosmo but that vegenaise crap is not a patch on good, fresh mayo. Proper mayo though, not the stuff from the jar.

Sadly I can have none, what with the little bean and all.

i looooove mayonnaise

at work i have a squeeze bottle of miacle whip
at home i use golden soya mayonnaise (tastes like whole egg mayo with a bit more tang)
i like any proper mayonnaises, praise and kraft are pretty crap. nothing fat free - mayonnaise cannot be fat free.

also a fan of variations like dijonaise, bernaise, hollandaise and perinaise aka that sauce you get from nandos. :)

i believe that it is necessary for continuum, because it needs that extra syllable to be pronounced correctly, but vacuum is just stuupid.

but fuck, we need to stay on topic

Mmmm Mayonnaise is yummy. We use it like you lot across the Atlantic use ketchup! We put it on subs, in salads, on french fries.... the lot!
And we haven't got the 85 varieties and flavors and stuff either. It's mayonnaise with eggs or mayonnaise with lemon. And that's it! None of that vegenaise or that if-you-want-to-be-hip-you-need-to-try-our-chili-flavoured-non-fat-extra-sweet-rose-scented-mayo- crap either.

And if you want to do the Dutch thing and mix ketchup with mayonnaise, next time add a little cognac for a lovely cocktail sauce. Good for salads (it's a standard on shrimp salads here), bbqs, etc.

What put's me off when I'm going stateside is people putting ketchup on EVERYTHING from fried eggs in the morning to pasta salad for lunch and chicken for dinner. That's gross! Best diet I can find is watching those people eat that stuff!

OK, go ahead and flame me. I'm wearing my mayonnaise-coated flame-flack-jack, so I can take it.

And on-topic, you inspired me to make a tuna sandwich containing mayo after posting this.

yeah when I was at Subway, there was a foreigner working there and his english was kinda poor and to top it off, the guy in front of me was a red neck fuck and he asked the worker to put light mayo on his sandwich. Light in redneck sounds like alot. So the worker started pouring it in and the whole time, the redneck kept shouting "light, light" which provoked the Subway worker to keep pouring it on. He had half the contents of the mayo bottle on the sandwich by the time he was finished.
