Risky Business or Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead?

That's a toughie.
I'd have to go with Risky Buiness. I've been in similar predicaments.

"Don't tell mom..." really was ridickledockle because of all that outrageous shit that set things into motion. Like drag queens stole their car. Applegate gets a job with a fake resume and the lady automatically loves her. And those designs at the end! As if a nurse would wear hot pink tights. ASIF!

I never saw Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. I saw Adventures in Babysitting though. That was highly unconvincing. (that sounds awkward  )

How was this only a one reply thread?
You know what...I think I was mixing up Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead with Adventures in Babysitting for some reason.

Don't tell me. Having a spot of rumpy on a train with tangerine dream playing in the background?

I did the same thing as I was about to post.
And if none of those 4 kids weew supposed to be over 17 years of age, they did a great job not freaking out that there was a dead lady in their house.
That's really the only part that was over the top for me.

Rumpy! Haha you Brits kill me.
But no.
It was Elton John...Crocodile Rock playing in the background.

I was not convinced when the kids charmed the crowd by singing blues at a club in Chicago.

In Adventures in Babysitting, do you think Chris really DID pose for playboy?
That was the movie where I first heard the f-word. I repeated it to my older brother when he told me we were going to have a babysitter one night. I said "don't fuck with the babysitter." And he never told on me. (y)

I was wishing it was RB vs. AiB because I never say DTMtBD.
Whew! -- that's alot of typing.
I'd say Risky Business, because Joel actually did look and act pretty convincingly stoned when he was eating the ice cram cone by the lake with Balki.

I never saw Risky Business but I heard of the plot. Don't Tell Mom wasn't that convincing cuz I'm pretty sure people who are 30-40+ can tell the difference between a 24 year old and a 17 year old. I mean, it's easy for Christina Applegate to convince them because she's not 17. But if you got an actual 17-year-old actress in there everyone would be like "HEEYYY!" because it's so unrealistic.

Risky Business is one of those movies that sounds pretty ludicrous on paper, but it's so, so, so well done that even the craziest, most impossible stuff passes.
"I have a trig midterm tomorrow and I'm being chased by Guido... the Killer Pimp."*
*Guido is Joey Pants, by the way. Joe Pantoliano (sp?). The Memento/Matrix dude.

Risky Business.
Even though I love both of those other films. In a "haha this is so crappy but I watched it when I was younger" way.

Bob Seger vs Huey Lewis and the News; a topic for another thread. But I'll be damned if I'm going into that music forum. Just so you know, I prefer Huey. That's the POWER of love!

New york, new york, is everything they say
And no place that Id rather be
Where else can you do a half a million things
All at a quarter to three
When they palt their music, ooh that modern music
They like it with a lot of style
But ts still that same old back beat rhythm
That really drives em wild
They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what Ive seen I believe em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating
La, hollywood, and the sunset strip
Is something everyone should see
Neon lights and the pretty pretty girls
All dressed so scantily
When they play their music
That hard rock music
They like it with a lot of flash
But its still that same old back beat rhythm
That really kicks em in the
They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what Ive seen I believe em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating
Dc, san antone and the liberty town, boston and baton rouge
Tulsa, austin, oklahoma city, seattle, san francisco, too
Everywhere theres music, real live music, bands with a million styles
But its still that some old rock and roll music
That really drives em wild
They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating
And from what Ive seen I believe em
Now the old boy may be barely breathing
But the heart of rock and roll is still beating
"Pretty pretty girls... they like it with a lot of flash?" Listing cities "Everywhere theres music, real live music, bands with a million styles"
myeah.
I used to think it was "The Heart of Rock n roll is in Cleveland", because that's where the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is.

This, on the other hand, I get goose bumps just reading it
Just take those old records off the shelf
Ill sit and listen to em by myself
Todays music aln t got the same soul
I like that old time rock n roll
Dont try to take me to a disco
Youll never even get me out on the
In ten minutes Ill be late for the door
I like that old time rockn roll
Still like that old time rockn roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock n roll
Wont go to hear them play a tango
Id rather hear some blues or funky old soul
Theres only sure way to get me to go
Start playing old time rock n roll
Call me a relic, call me what you will
Say Im old-fashioned, say Im over the hill
Today music aint got the same soul
I like that old time rock n roll
Still like that old time rockn roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock n roll

Oh I like that one! It conjurs images of an actual city that was built on rock n roll, like a sci fi movie or something that takes place in the future like the future described in Bill and Teds.
