The second half is pretty weak and Hittman is on waaaaaaaaay too many songs.

I can't imagine what it must be like hearing this album again for the first time. It's barely aged at all, though. It could have been shelved for 6 years and have dropped tommorow and it would still be ahead of the pack.

Next Episode and Still D.R.E. are the obvious highlights. But listen to XXplosive and Light Speed again. They're sick.

Don't forget Xxplosive, though. Kurupt's verse on it is the most ignorant, misongynistic and tasteless verse not performed by a rapper named Too $hort, Eazy E or Luke ever. And it's awesome.

i remember when this album hit the scene. everyone loved it; it was getting played all the time at my mate's houses and stuff. at the time i liked it, didn't have a problem with it. still don't - just not really my thing. but never had beef on it.

That shit was like the 'let's get it on' of my lifetime. That album is classic. A very different kind of Dre to what I knew (on some Spielberg shit) but nonetheless, awesome. Em wrote his verses on The Watcher and Forgot about Dre right?

I didnt hate this album... but i didnt love it like i loved the original chronic. i found the second half kinda weak too. and the skits were garbage.

dre's beats are always amazing. i just thought the record lacked the energy of his first solo record.

if i had a choice, i rather listen to 'the chronic' or 'niggaz4life'...
