Weird. I got that in an email this morning. Sent it out to some people, and they said that they got it in an email earlier this morning. Its crazy how fast this shit spreads. Just like the ratboymonster deal that echewta posted alink to the other day. Not even 5 minutes before I saw that post, someone sent me a link to it. Weirdness. I don't think that ad. is even broadcast in australia. At least i haven't seen it. And I would have seen it. Actually now that i think about it I've never seen a fosters ad. period. It's all about the VB.
And another thing, the majourity of the ads. on here don't have those distinctly australian accents. no one actually talks like that u know. except steve erwin. and paul hogan. and my sisters ex fiances dad. but i'm pretty sure he was inbred.

Yeah that one is just stupid, not offensive. The best beer add remains the hahn premium light one with Michael Caton, you know the one thats like elvis themed or something from a few years ago. I don't really remember it that well, just that is was awesome. Also the carlton draught add is cool. This fosters one was never aired in Australia...its shit anyway.

yeah another stupid stereotype. fosters hardly exists in australia. i cant think of one person i know that has actually drunk it. (and we drink alot of beer). i remember one time, in the period coming up to the syd 2000 games, fosters were a major sponsor. me and 2 friends walked into a pub, where new sydney 2000 fosters beer taps had been installed every 5 metres along the bar, and there were fosters bar runner mats along the bar too. we looked and thought, 'fuck it, lets actually try a fosters!' we asked for 3 pints of fosters, and the bar chick looked at us as if we were aliens. she said, 'um....... o...k' and tried to pour a beer out of the first fosters tap. water came out. tried the next one. nothing. next tap. nothing. next tap. just gas. she walked back to us and said 'sorry, but no one has actually asked for a fosters before. i dont think theyre even connected!' we pissed ourselves laughing. the first time some aussies actually ask for a fosters in an aussie pub, and you can't get it. so we ordered 3 pints of coopers pale ale. now THATS a beer.

go figure. personally i prefer the carlton draft big ad (http://www.bigad.com.au/) campaign.

and i quite liked their 'made from beer'/'canoe' campaign. mum still laughs at those ads. and the latest vb ads with the two guys camping is actaully funny. when did beer ads get clever?

The Carlton Draught ad is one of the best I've seen, even though I dont drink it. I love it when all those guys are jumping over the fence and half of them fall off. The old school VB ads (before they went metro) will always hold the beer ad trophy for me, though.

i agree. as much as the world around us changed, the one thing you could still rely on was the VB ad that hadnt changed since, well ever. then when carlton draught started making ads taking the piss out of beer ads, VB went oh shit. we having the piss taken out of us, better do something, so then they changed. for the worse in my opinion. they are funny, but i still prefer the old ones.
p.s. that carlton draught ad is REALLY BIG!
