5 WEEKS OLD??!! this puppy is waaaaay to young to be taken away from his mother! is it legal in canada or in the states to take away the puppys so soon? here in europe you HAVE to wait until they are at LEAST 8 weeks old. it would be better if they were 10 - 12 weeks old.

and there is a reason why golden retrievers are so "nice".... people used to breed with the calm, chilling dogs, so that they would have the "perfect" family dog. what they didn't know is that they all had a thyroid gland deficiency... allmost every golden retriever has it, i'm not joking. i know what i'm talking about.

well here in canada its ok!the pup is already on dog food. The advantage of having a pup young like that,is that there gona be very attach to us,listening very well,,we rae like his surrogate family, mother,,,

thyroid gland hey,so how come?
what does it do to the dogs?
so you have a experience with it?

i didn't want to "attack" you (5 weeks etc.), i was just wondering.

almost every golden has this thyroid gland disfunction, thats why most of the goldens are so calm and easy going. sometimes the disfuntion develops early, sometimes it develops after a few years. but every golden i know has it. and it really doesnt depend on wether they're from europe, from the states, canada or somewhere else. you could (or should) talk about it with your vet and keep an eye on it. you can find out if he has it by making blood tests.
if you think that your dog is behaving too calm, doesn't want to play (with you or with other dogs) etc., maybe it's because of that.
and it is VERY, VERY important that he should have the possibilty to play with other dogs (puppys and grown ups). but be carefull that he doesn't get bullied too much, otherwise he'll become a bully himself. but i'm sure you know that already. ;)

that's not a surprise. wolf hybrids are usually unpredictable and can be dangerous. I once did a project on wolves and one of the women I interviewed who had spent years studying wolves had also owned several Hybrids. she actually considered them to be more dangerous that a full blooded wolf and she did not feel they were fit pets for the average family. She said she had to be so careful with her wolf hybrid around other people. One of her hybrids didn't like a friend of hers and one day they were all riding in the car together and the og kept growling at her friend. they left the dog in the car for about 15 mintues while they ran some errands and when they came back they found that the dog had compeletely shreded the seat where her friend had been sitting.

yes they are unprecdictable,i had my hybrid when he was 2 month, the first year he was super, but when his nuts came out,,he just change, always pee inside(territory),and he became to hate everybody (mostly male)execpt me.
so my girl was young(4),i did like that, so,,finaly we had to put him down.hes wolf instinc was too strong!

i think that hybrids should be abolished, people should stop breeding them, they are too dangerous, wild. Its against nature!
but hey there will always be moron,or people ininform(like me when i get my hibrid,i did not really know a lot)
