John Peel's record collection threatened to overtake his Suffolk home. But in a small, battered wooden box, the much-loved DJ kept a precious selection of 7-inch singles that meant more to him than any of the others. It'd be good if the entire 142 singles including b- sides were released as a box set one day (y)

I just reread that list and my favorite local band is on it! The Squirrels (http://www.thesquirrels.com/newcd.htm) - Oz on 45 + Alone again (POPLLAMA PROD) 1988! John Peel had it, whatever "it" is, he had it in spades.

Rob Morgan from the Squirrels plays the streets of Seattle randomly with a boombox and a mic, his whole show, including applause and request call-outs, is on a tape, he just fills in the vocals.

Anyway nice to see John Peel gets "it".
