he can make the big plays to break a game open sometimes, but more often than not he is dropping the crucial first down pass to keep a drive alive

who else would you deem to never live up to their high billing?

Rio Ferdinand. 30 million pounds worth of drug test forgetting, ball losing, money grabbing, weak tackling shite. Not that 90% of the people on here will even know who he is, but never mind.

That money should have been spent on a donkey farm - then at least more than one donkey would have been kept in a job.

i know who you mean. but i don't watch enough soccer to understand why he'd be overrated.

AMEN!

And Eddie Curry. For our overseas friends, Eddie Curry was a top rated draft pick a few years ago for the Chicago Bulls. People were calling him the new hope for the Bulls and he got this huge fucking contract and all these endorsement deals and all this other bullshit.......

the guy sucks. He just plain fucking sucks. He couldn't tell a basketball from a fucking bowling ball. He sucks.

and when this 23 year old develops and becomes a quality player perhaps even all-star you're gonna be cursing the bulls GM for giving up on him while the knicks are just glad they dont have to deal with tim thomas' always injured ass.. have fun with that guy. one day you'll be like "oh yes, 27pts 8 rebounds for thomas" then the next 6 games he score a combined 13pts with 4 rebounds.. have fun with that.

how about former heisman award winners jason white, eric crouch, or even ron dayne?

i mean, i didnt expect white to even try for the nfl, but...

eric crouch was too much of a baby to take a hit in the nfl, which was weird since he was an option QB who got smacked around more than the average guy would...

as for ron dayne, he has had some decent years, but where is he now? you would expect one of the top college rushers of all time to be a started 5 years down the line. a thing to note is that he beat out the likes of shaun alexander in that heisman race.

but ron dayne hardly gets playing time his rookie season he had a little over 700 yard, then jim fassel never played him as much anymore. but yea in college he was amazing, but now he's in denver where well they always have more than one good running back.

Michael Vick

The Bulls housed Isiah on that Curry deal. They got Sweetney and like 4 draft picks. Any 7'er that averages 4 boards is lazy. He has a nice offensive game, but he only has good 1/2 games because he eats too many cheesburgers.

ray lewis, and t-mac

you really think so?

ray lewis is the anchor on that defense, and he shows up everywhere on that field.

and t-mac definetly puts up good offensive numbers (allthough i don't follow the nba much), but he sorta fits in likle kobe does, but minus the rings

that sarunas jasikevicius dude on the pacers team better be good cos the media have been hyping him quite a bit.

ray lewis may show up every where on the field but they don't look that good this year.

sure, he has good numbers. but can you imagine how his state were if he didnt lead the league in dropped balls? honestly, a top level receiver like him shouldn't be dropping so many easy ones...

ray lewis may show up every where on the field but they don't look that good this year.

well he is still getting his job done. the defense is still pretty solid. but when your quarterback is anthony wright, and your only true threat to catch the ball is todd heap, you need to work on something...

he's done pretty well in the preseason considering he isn't fully adjusted to the NBA style. His offense is steady, but his defense is going to be a work in progress. His teammates love his ability to get them the ball, and to get it to them exactly where they want it. Bird loves him too.

overrated means they have no talent and were hyped to be the greatest...

granted I'm a huge Rockets fan, but even when T-Mac was on the Magic I knew he had talent...

that game last year when he scored 13 points in 35 seconds solidified that theory for me...

overrated NBA players would include players like Darko Milicic or Kwame Brown...

ray lewis,

yeah.
while a solid player....that dude has had his statistics inflated by the hometown squad to a disgusting degree.

Dr. Z from SportIllustrated routinely rips on him....he's been exposing him for years as an only slightly above average LB who's benefited from the "emperor's new clothes" mentality of the sports public.

he's very flashy...and always makes the highlight reels...
but he routinely gets credits for tackles when he was nowhere in the vacinity.
that "ray lewis is everywhere on the field" thing is a fuckin myth...
