In my opinion. They were a great band. With different styles in sound but there orginal sound always stayed intact. Very creative band.

I agree. Angel Dust is one of the best albums I've ever heard. It's up there with Pauls Boutique in my oppinion in terms of creativity/originality/greatness/wierdness. The two albums are very similar in that sense. Infact 'Midlife Crisis' samples Car Theif. It's a complex album and it's taken me about a year of on and off listening to realise how amazing it is but its well worth a buy.

The small victories
The cankers and medallions
They keep me thinking
That someday
I might beat you
But I'll just keep my mouth shut

one of my favourite bands
Definitely a favorite here too. Saw them live a few times, I hope they reunite someday. Angel Dust is one of my top CD's as well.

I will always prefer 'The Real Thing'.
I like the idea of their converging styles, but once they lost Jim Martin they lost that Sabbath guitar sound.
Patton and Chuck had a degree of lunacy in common, but they never filled Jim's void.
One other notable instance of converging style is G n R. Slash and Adler were the Zeppelin influenced members ( a large reason why Slash's solos sounded shit following Appetite was the absence of Steven Adlers' symbols), Izzy was a very Stones-y kind of guitarist by comparison, Duff clearly had the New York Dolls influence, and Axl thought he was Mark Bolan.

Said it before on here, "Who Cares A Lot" is a good place to start. Greatest hits thing.
If you want to go straight for albums Angel Dust, King For A Day and... well... any other one will do really :)

Erm, I'm evil and I've just started to download the discography, sorry, I know it's wrong but I cannot stop myself... Then I might buy some more originals :p
I use downloads as an aid to what I want to buy original...
