this is weak as water

and they dont even really sound like the beasties, no

I appreciate the idea behind it but there is something weird about doing beasties impersonations like that... and if the beasties wrote this why is he saying they didnt get back to him?

Haha!

This is great!

I think people doing things like this is awesome - It's not really a remix but it beats listening to yet another triple trouble remix. Originalality dudes!

Good find.

Hardly spamming!

I put it in the general forum first and then moved it over here because it's where it should have probably been in the first place.

Just like it says on the original post. If you'd actually read it.

Yep, I did. I didn't know where else it should go, and I thought you (and others) might like it.

My sincere apologies.

YoungRemy says that this isnt a remix, which raises a quite interesting question:

If someone takes a beastie boy beat and does a new vocal on top of it, like these guys have done here, is it any less of a remix than someone who does the reverse - taking a beasties acapella and putting it on top of a different beat?

You could argue that both are as valid as each other, no?

If you're at work, or if you don't have an mp3 player on your computer, you'll have to imagine the Beastie Boys rapping. As a guide, Ad Rock sounds like a vacuum cleaner, Mike D sounds like he’s been at the helium, and MCA is gruffer, and always sounds a bit cheesed off.
This made me laugh. Adrock sounds like a vacuum cleaner. What the hell?

Oh, and as for the song: the guy playing Adrock sounded alright. The guy playing MCA sounded more like the rapper from Linkin Park. And the guy playing Mike D didn't sound much like him at all. I'll give it an E for effort.

And if you want to hear a good Adrock soundalike, just listen to Zack De La Rocha, the rapper from 311, Hossi Olafson from Quarashi, B-Real from Cypress Hill.

Yes he has a right to do it.

Yes I have a right to think it's sort of lame, though I appreciate the effort. The rapping is not bad, why not write rhymes and rap as yourself, rather than imitating the bboys? though I guess its the sincerest form of flattery, and who am I to judge, being a sample meister and remixer myself.

but much lamer is the homophobia flying around this thread. If you learn to love...
