A day late and a dollar short.

The only hope for change is the midterm elections.

We're basically praying the Democrats can save us (Something I loathe to do, but I have no options). Can they?

I saw a protest in Union Square yesterday, a group of people said "we wont stop until george bush is out of office...."

do these people really think there is going to be a "regime change" before 2008 comes around? i seriously would like to know...

I thought it was 37%? Ah well, let's hope it continues that way for 2006. And then in 2008, things get good again. (y)

John Locke and Thomas Jefferson would personally be shitting if they saw the abuse of power the Elites are doing right now. THIS IS NOT WHAT THE FOREFATHERS STOOD FOR, NOR COULD THEY HAVE THE FORESIGHT TO SEE IT.

Mostly agree with you.

The problem in the US is that money = the freedom to advertise (i.e., it's been equated with free speech, mostly).

How do we (the common people) stop the centralization of power in the hands of the elites? Well, taking back the ability to govern can only come about, I fear, with some rather revolutionary changes at this point. Constitutional amendments and the restoration of local power may be the only ways to institute massive change. The infringement of power of the Federal Government is a good start, paring it down to the powers enumerated in the Constitution (i.e, military defense and regulation of commerce) would be essential.

Any other ideas out there?
