I love my bed, it's the most comfortable bed ever. I'm tired and I've had a long day, I'm gonna go and have 9 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm, sleep (y)

why would you risk jinxing it by typing the words 'uninterrupted'?

Because there's not much that can disturb me once I'm asleep. Unless I'm working nights and my neighbour's noisy kids are in the garden...but then I just shut the window.

Looking forward to more decent sleep tonight, although reading Turd's post about springs digging into him reminds me of a bed I had a few years ago....not a good memory.

I'm so glad I bought a new matress, and it's so true that you get what you pay for. Mine should be fucking awesome cos it cost me over a grand.

that depends on you ms.peachy and how well you can train mr.peachy to get up with the kid every time.

i think both of my kids started sleeping through the night around 2.5 to 3 months. it was from midnight to about 6:30 am, but that's still better than 3 hours max.

i dont like wasting my time by sleeping. i'd rather sttay up as late as i can finishing off a song or watching a film or having a party. say if you live till you're 80. on average you spend 8/9 hours sleeping. that prety much half the day! so you spend around 30 years of your life sleeping!

word. that "you only dream in R.E.M." schtick does not apply to me. I can lay down for an hour and a half and have some vivid visions. i like following myself fall asleep. that's a trip.

What is it with all you people that require all this sleep? Your asleep just as much and maybe a little more than your awake.

I've got a shitty metal tube frame futon. I told my parents to get me the one made of oak. It would have cost more, but it wouldn't have bent in the middle. the matress sucks, too. it's crushed down so much that I have to flip it every other day. I haven't had a good night's sleep in two and a half years. and I used to own a big comfy queen size bed, and I kick myself every night for getting rid of it.

Growing up, in our guest room, the mattress on the bed was unusually comfortable. Seriously, like you would just lay on it and immediately pass out. I have 2 brothers and a sister, and we're all close in age, so if one weekend we were all out for the night, whoever got home first got to pass out on the bed first. Wake up...no hangover. Sounds ridiculous...but, it's true. Then, I think my brother took it when he moved out into his appartment.

I have serious issues with my bed. I bought a new king size matress about 3 years ago. It started to sink more or less straight away. The company I bought if from went bust (courts) but luckily I paid for some 5 years insurance that if I didn't claim on I get the money back after 5 years - not cheap £80.00 but on a £500 suposedly-quality matress I thought, what the hell since it was 0% apr over the year or something.

Anyway. I called the insurance when this first happened and someone came out, had a look and took a photo of it. Thinking it obviously faulty and awaiting instructions on how to get a new matress. I get a letter saying there is nothing wrong with it. So i've been wrting letters to them and phoning them for about a year now. A couple of weeks back I was so fed up with an uncomfortable bed I call them up and demanded I spoke with a manager and to get someone else to come out. Which they refused to do because the first visit showed nothing wrong. I have someone coming out tomorrow to look at it again. I'm gonna take a copy and a note of everything he/she does and checks.

So I hate my bed, when it really should be and was sold as such - a quality matress that should last at least a good 10 years before any faults develop...

That's funny to me for some reason. All this over a mattress...insurance, photos of the evidence, harrassing letters and phone calls.

Well it is a funny story, cus I'll probably look back at it all and laugh. At the moment, it's annoying to me because its one of the only items I tend to use every day. I'm a fat fuck, I accept that but 16 stone on a bed each night wouldn't and shouldn't make a king size bed just sink in the middle. Even when my girlfriend stayed over the night, an extra 8 stone (cus she was a tiny fuck) or so wouldn't make a difference either.
