Have there been public opinion polls recently? What were those polls like right after 9/11?

Is it really in the best interests, overall, for South Americans to NOT be a part of the free trade area? I know Chile and Mexico and Canada and the US have all, overall, benefitted from the free trade area. What are the arguments for and against adopting it hemisphere-wide?
