Hello! Yes, I'm still alive. I don't know if anyone even cares that I'm writing this! anyway...
How is everyone? What have you been doing lately? I think it'd be fun to hear a brief summary from everyone, so if you want to do that, awesome; if not, please don't even post...I don't want to have to sift through stupid bullshit. thanks :)
(Oh and I know there will be some of you that do it anyway :p )
I've been really busy. I'm still up in Boston. Going to school (3rd year Mechanical Engineering.) It's really tough. I never have time to do anything but school stuff, and when I do, I go out with friends. (notice I'm never here anymore?) Other than that, I just am looking forward to Thanksgiving to go home and see the fam. :)
so how about you?

HI LARA
I remember you. We talked for like 8 minutes and then my phone hung up on you. I waited for 5 minutes for a return call and then I cried myself to sleep. :(
i'm doing well. i'm in my last year of college, i beat the shit out of my LSAT test, so i'm going to be going to law school next. i don't know which one yet. i hope it's a good one.

Go to Brooklyn Law. You can room with my Jewish friend. It's quite the opportunity I'm giving you, because it'll be your only chance to meet and befriend a Jew in law school.

beeeth! the pictures are beautiful. i'm so glad you guys are doing so well. it's awesome to see that someone made it all the way :)
AND congrats on the award. i can only imagine how busy you are. makes my workload look pale in comparison! i hope everything with that continues to go well and you start making 7 figures soon. (oh and i'll call you if I have any legal troubles)
DIANA :) hello. i don't remember speaking with you, but ya know, shit happens when you get drunk. hope you and wayne are doing well. is he still in chicago? how long til he comes back to dc for good?
hi paul! the fireworks sound fun. just be careful!
bob, wow law school! hal9k is going to go to law school, too. He graduates in this summer. he's brilliant!
me and hal are good. i technically don't live in the same apartment as him, but i spend 99% of my time at his place. I like boston. the city is so different from what I'm used to. i can't wait for it to snow! (and stick. already had first snow on October 29th)
he is not coming home for christmas, but I think he might come back for new years. then we will fly back together to boston on the 4th of Jan, so we have time for his birthday (the 5th.)
okay too long and boring, i know!

heyz
i got accepted to the university of michigan, so i'll probably be going there next fall.
school has been good, not too hard or anything. it's going by really fast, and it seems like senior year is going to be over in no time. i'm seeing my girlfriend next weekend.
i've finished all my college applications, and now i'm just waiting for letters. i'm starting some scholarship essays, and am keeping my fingers crossed for lots of financial aid.

engineer's rock (y)
good luck with that one. i am managing my way through it, and have a couple more semesters left. i just got offered a internship typpe job for next term, but i kind of don't want to work there cause it seems kinda weird and its on the lower end of the pay spectrum for these jobs, but then on the other hand, it IS a job, osmething that i desperately need for next term

Sure you remember! We talked about how you say the word "fixin'" a lot, and the differences between accents and crap. It was cool, I swear.
Wayne and I are doing great, I saw him last weekend in Chicago (train for 22 freakin' hours!). He's coming home for Christmas/New Years, and will be looking for jobs both here and Chicago before he decides where to live. If he finds one there, looks like I have to move. :(
I thought you were chemical engineering, not mechanical engineering. Not like I really know what chemical engineering entails anyways, but why aren't you doing it?

not only do i not know what chemical engineering is, i also don't know what mechanical engineering is.
no explanation necessary, though it would be appreciated.

mechanical engineers basically find ways to harness energy and make it useful
chemical engineers use chemistry to design new materials,or new uses for existing materials

Hmm, yes yes I was chemical engineering but I recently switched...actually, it's not even official with the college of engineering here. Basically, I'm sick of chemistry and it's not even interesting anymore. Who the fuck cares about the calculus behind the Kinetic Molecular Theory? I know I don't.
pbranez, I'm glad your senior year is going good. it goes by so fast, I know. State schools are definitely a good idea. I went to state schools for the first 2 years and I loved em. I'm sure you'll be able to go there for next to nothing, too. scholarship essays are your friend :) (though exceptionally tedious and boring)
I'm sorry you're sick like2drink. I say go see a doctor. About the grades, get a tutor. or maybe stop drinking as much. I don't exactly know your situation, but i'm sure you can get out if it.
jabumbo, aren't you civil? heh, if you are, those are the lowest paid anyway! ;)
lara, yes I do. and yes, you can touch it if and when we meet.
engineers. yes. most engineers are all about either 1. inventing new things to make life easier for society. or 2. improving things that have already been invented to make them cheaper/more efficient/more easy to maintain/etc.
chemical engineers work on making chemical processes more efficient. they can do anything from making aspirin cheaper to working on cures for diseases to finding alternative sources of fuel.
mechanical engineers work more on technical things such as cars, elevators, anything electrical. electrical engineers work on the circuits in these things, but mechanical engineers come up with how to make them in mass quantities or come up with an original design idea.
ha, that explanation was so long yet so very vague. sorry :o

Ok so now explain what structural engineers do.
(j/k, I is married an arkiteck, I know what they do)
Oh and if you hadn't worked it out on your own already, I'm knocked up.

civil engineer's are only the lowest paid if they work for the government (ie: the army core of engineers, the largest employer of engineers in the world, of which most are civil's)
in the private sector, we come out pretty high on the pay range...
plus, we have the best job security of anyone. the civil department here at my school is the only one that can boast 100% post graduation job placement. so i'm not worried
i could have been a structural engineer, but i hate analyzing trusses, so i opted against it. i'd rather analyze the dirt
