yes they're a soulless corporation that is slowly draining all the creativity from the wireless market, but goddamn they've got some good reception.

Hutchison sold Orange in the UK, I'm not sure who owns them now. Hutchison's network here is called "3" (and it's shit)

Halebop. It belongs to Telia, but it's rather cheap, and I pay in advance.
I'd need to call for 49,- SEK a month to keep it, and usually I don't think I call that much! Usually I just text competition answers...
If my friends used the same company we could call for free. But I'm not the kind that talks on the phone much anyway.

Verizon Wireless!

I had Cingular but realized it dropped my calls every two minutes because they have shit reception, which is why they have such cheap phone plans. I'd rather pay an extra $10 a month to actually TALK on my cell phone with Verizon.

From The Onion:

Verizon Introduces New Charge-You-At-Whim Plan

August 21, 2006 | Issue 42•34

NEW YORK—Verizon Communications, Inc. announced a new service package for its wireless and residential customers that would charge them widely varying, but always high, fees every month depending how the communications giant feels at the time. "Our Charge-At-Whim packages offer the same mediocre quality and insufferable level of customer service you’ve come to expect," a Verizon spokesman said Tuesday. "But it adds an unjustified, arbitrary and, if you’ll allow us to boast, frankly unjustifiable method of determining just how much you’ll pay for them." Packages start at "oh, $69.99 a month, let’s say?" and went into effect about three or four months ago.

I had Cingular and never dropped a call in the 2 years that I had them.
Then I switched to Verizon and dropped calls all the time. And I lived less than a mile from their corporate office so you would think they would have a tower nearby, so that wouldn't be an issue.
Now I live about 3 or 4 miles from their corp office and never drop calls unless I go back to the other house.
Fuckacellphone anyway. My contract is up next month and im getting rid of that shit. I made it 24 years without one...i can do it again. plus there is always someone with a cellphone around if need be.

telstra. i had new phone only a month before the whole operating system died and i had to take it back to it fixed. they said it would take 1 to 2 weeks but it took nearly 6, and in the meantime they gave me a shitty loan phone. plus when i finally got the phone back something else is fucking up with it. thanks telstra

I have verizon, home and cell, it's fucked up expensive I think. I'm going with a comcast internet phone service for home in a few moths when my 2 year cell contract is up with verizon, then probably nextel or some other screwy service.

I haven't been down to the mall lately, I imagine it would be pretty easy to hustle the kiosk folks into a good deal.

i havent had any problems with dropped calls, but it likes to go into digital roaming a lot, even though it doesnt really matter since there are no roaming charges

Vodafone.

I barely use it though. mostly on weekends when it's free texts, then it's time for cellular abuse.
