But I never understand why so many come back to this island when they are always advertising here for people to go over there. Was is so bad about you're island?

we like going to england because its on the complete opposite side of the world, for one. its the "big trip" that people [including myself] do to. plus the pound is really good to earn if you're in a decent profession. which i wasnt, so i actually couldnt afford to work and live there. ah well.

just looking at mags like nme, you've constanly got brilliant bands playing. you have amazing galleries and castles. see, we dont have castles. and you're not far from europe.

but i like my home. the weather is alot nicer here than in england...

I'm not biased. I was born in New Zealand. I became an Australian citizen.

I spent two years in England and Europe. I saw that there is indeed a planet out there, and it felt good to be a part of it.

If anything, I'm informed. Although it is only an opinion, I feel perfectly justified.

I wonder if your friends spend most of their time with other Australians or if they are really independently travelling? Because it's quite easy to find a ministralia over there, and I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would like that. My favourite thing about travelling was getting amongst new surroundings and people and soaking up something fresh.

I'm not presuming to know how your friends are spending their time, nor am I concerned, but for their sake you should hope that they aren't so dull as to need to be reminded of home all the time. Or comparing everything to home.

I applied on an N.Z passport through Sydney and got two years on my visa. If I wanted to, I'm pretty sure I could do it on an Australian one all over again.

Yeah, Australians interest me cus I live 200 miles away from London and about 50 miles away from the nearest coast which is where I would expect to find Aussies but I could walk 3 miles into the town centre and meet an Australian IN ANY BAR! They are as common as the Irish - who are my favourite europeans.

I also forgot/didn't realise that not many bands would go over there cus how far away it is.

As for being close to europe and cheap plane flights, I have my own issues on this. I don't think plane tickets these day show the true cost to the environment and is doing more harm than good which is why I wouldn't travel on such a cheap flight to europe. But that is my personal choice, you cannot stop the masses only thinking of themselves. But that is whole other different issue no one agrees with me on so I'll shaddup.

It's a common error I make. Some grammar annoys me. Like your, you're, there, their because I read it wrong and often have to read it again before it can make sense to me. I'm kinda slow like that.

I don't understand how tzar is linking going to Europe with disliking Aus. I didn't go there to be 'Alternative', I worked two jobs to pay for it. It was the experience of a lifetime. I hope tzar can travel someday.
