In er, NME or something they said in the SGH review that the Beastie Boys were the coolest twats on the planet. I been thinking and I can't decide whether this is good or not.

bit of strange one, hmmmmm. It's a bit two way if you ask me, but if they liked em they would have put it better so i'm sorta going in the insult direction. Besides NME blows bubbles straight from it's arse

That review was bitchy! Since when was AOLTNYC "dull" and "sucky"? And exactly how are they twats for playing instruments once in a while? I put my copy down at the checkout in disgust without buying it.
Then the next night I went out and bought it anyway. :p

ah well, just one opinion. i read that too, i remeber the single review for an open letter was appauling too, really dug in deep. then in a later issue, when going over the best albums of the year (2004), an open letter was referred to as 'the albums beautiful centerpiece' in the short bit about TT5B.

If you're a gin and tonic swigging, Silk Cut smoking rock journo who fawned over The Strokes, The Libertines and any other post-modern, garage rock 'The' band to the point of embarassment, then naturally you'd think the Beastie Boys were twats.
I mean not taking yourself seriously? A cardinal sin in the world of NME.
