Rob Money brought a lot to the board. Not just in terms of physical capacity, but in other ways, as well. I found with Rob that he was seldom ever reluctant to offer you his thoroughly captivating insight, even if you didn't want it or care for it. Hell, even if you just flat out asked him to please not share his perspectives, he still would. He was just that concerned for everyone's well-being. No matter how much you just wanted him to shut his big fat pie hole, he'd make sure that you got his message, regardless. He worked determinedly at bringing people together with his wonderful sense of humor and big chipmunk face. At times, it seemed like he knew absolutely everything about your life just from reading your posts on the board, only he didn't. But that's neither here nor there. The important thing is that he cared enough to act like he knew everything about your life and was equally determined to make you believe that. Only, nobody did believe. And that was the problem; that nobody believed in him. So you could say that in a lot of ways, it was us that let him down and not the other way around.

Could you imagine if every child in the world stopped believing in Santa simply because the very idea of a fat dude in a red outfit handing out toys to approx. 4.5 billion children across the globe, by means of breaking and entering into their homes, in a single 12 hour period didn't seem logical or even the least bit conceivable? I can't.

Maybe Rob $ didn't have all the answers; maybe he was an extremely flawed human being with little to no ability to amuse, reason with, not disgust, intrigue or gain acceptance from people in the e-world, apart from the 2 or 3 people he met here who were willing to look past his plethora of flaws and borderline cromagnon social skills. But perhaps, we all just should have believed in him a little more.

Those who protest too much often are the worst perpetrators.

When there's few of a certain type coming into a largely homogenous area, they are often impugned. That's PART of the reason that stereotyping and discrimination are worse problems in the northeast than in the South.

In the South, you tend to get along with what you know, it seems to me....ie blacks and whites have been putting up with each other in large numbers for a lot longer than they have in other parts of the country. They know each others' pecadilloes, so to speak.

There were BAD race riots in Boston in the '70's, especially when busing and integration were big issues.

Racism, unfortunately, I believe, TENDS to be for those who are least well-educated on the travails and turmoil that racism causes not only to those who are discriminated against, but also to the complete lack of self-esteem and ability to think coherently for the propogator of such claptrap.

Bottom line : racists suck.....racism sucks.....education is the key to ending discrimination.

It used to be that you could be black without actually being black. Back in the 1920s, if someone found out that your grandmother was black then you'd be black too, even if you looked white. It's much harder these days to be black. You have to have papers and stuff, registries, notorized...
