It's so damn stupid. "Don't vote for this guy, he's a liberal." As if that's a BAD thing. :rolleyes: It's used as a bad word, and it's crap. Since when was "liberal" seen as being extreme, and "conservative" as being moderate? The majority of liberals in office now are relatively moderate, and the conservatives are the extremists! What the hell?

All these attacks on liberals are so stupid too. Why are people SO TERRIFIED of higher taxes? I don't make much money, I'm a student who pays for tuition, my car, clothes, bills, and struggle to make ends meet, and I DON'T MIND TAXES. All these rich assholes are the ones who don't want their gigantic moneybags taken, and I don't see why THEY'RE the ones who care. Republicans are known as the ones with money. Democrats are typically the poorer folk. So why are Republicans so terrified of higher taxes and the poorer DEMOCRATS for it? In my opinion, it's greediness at it's worst. I realize we need money to pay for things, so I don't mind paying extra. People like Bush spend and spend and don't tax so we have a DEFICIT. You can't spend if you don't have the money to do so.

They should change the word "liberal" to "progressive". I don't think anyone would be afraid of voting for someone with a "progressive" ideology. Especially if we came up with some great smear attacks against those "stuck in the past."

I'm so sick of the politics business. None of it makes any sense, and all these assholes eat it up like candy.

If you believe that the government is better at spending it than you are.

Do you really think the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington, DC are better at spending your earnings while taking their fair share for the right to transfer those funds, get great health care benefits, and fat pensions to boot?

Wouldn't YOU rather decide when and where those funds were spent? If you had even a dollar a day more in your pocket, YOU could decide to give it to the homeless guy or girl you pass every day on your way to work or wherever. OR, YOU could save it and invest in a company that manufactures things that other could use to better their lives, all the while providing jobs and benefits to hundreds or thousands of families.

OR, you could save it for a year or two and travel to some poor spot around the world and SPEND it, where it will impact lives in a far greater proportion than any amount SPENT by the FEDS or state governments EVER could.

Don't you believe in freedom of choice (in this case, to spend money YOU EARNED as you see fit), Queen, or are your pro-abortion stances just rhetoric?

Pro-abortion? Really? Please tell me where I said I was pro-abortion because you'll never find it. I do believe in freedom of choice, however, and I do believe people should be able to pick out where majoirty of their money is spent. Which is why you're allowed to keep 85% of your money! Into your OWN pocket to decide where you want to put it. I couldn't give a shit over a lousy 15% put to taxes. If they GAVE me the option "15% of your paycheck could go and help people and programs" I'd say yes. I'd much rather see people's money go towards good stuff than the meaningless shit they'd spend it on anyways. By your theory, you're against social security, too?

Look, YOUR Republican government spends regardless. The government spends and spends and they don't care if they have the funds or not. The difference with Democrats is that we realize that the government spends, and in order not to put the economy in a shithole and have a HUGE-ASS DEFICIT, we need to tax. Republicans always cry "No more taxes! No more taxes!" and yet we go into a war and spend $87 billion in one sitting. What's gonna pay for that, pixie dust and good wishes? I don't think so.

We're talking about a few measly dollars per paycheck to make sure we have roads and police officers. These are things society needs, and they WON'T be paid for without taxes. If you let people have their own money and didn't take anything out, do you REALLY think there are kind souls out there that would just say "Hey, I have extra money. Let's give it to those nice police officers," or would they say "SHIT YEAH! Extra money! Let's go buy a gas-guzzling SUV because we can afford it!"?


Wanna know how much I make per year? $8,000 bucks. That goes solely to my tuition and my car. And I'm fine with paying my taxes. I'd be fine with paying more taxes. Because I believe in what's best for society. I'm a rare person in this country, because most people want to squander their money for meaningless bullshit. I hate people who consider liberals to be extreme too- mostly because I believe, definitely, that liberals are moderate, and that's why I'm not one. Liberals often care about something only so much as to elicit whining, after which they forget about it and neglect to pursue it actively.
