I check in on Ricky's site every once in a while to see what he's up to. Being a photographer I kinda look up to the guy. I guess he really is broke 'cause his site didn't get renewed and is shut down (sucks). Maybe the boys could make a little space for him here.

On a lifestyle level, not really........ BUT He takes good pic's!! You can't argue with that.

ya, Ricky seems like a nice guy. but listening to him, he sounds like this old guy, who likes fuckin anything he could get, and lives in a trashy place... u know what i mean? Ricky is cool, but he's got some issues.

it's been down before. They're probably just updating it. They've always been slow wit the updates over there. Anyway, there was an article on Ricky in last months Mass Appeal, and one in the current wax poetics, he's a funny dude. I read that he doesn't fuck with the internet too much, doesn't have cable, and pretty much just watches reruns of old sitcoms. As a photographer he doesn't even use digital equipment. Kinda sounds like everyone's favorite Beastie. He ain't gone nowhere, probably just busy smokin weed in the vestibule.

it's pretty sad he looks in bad shape

but who knows he could be content with his life

just because he dosent have cable tv dosent mean he is not happy, he is still doing what he loves to do, and that is take pictures

Ricky is looking a little rough around the edges. I see him as a bit eccentric...and that's a compliment and a criticism.

i went to the boston show. nice guy. seemed really tired. probably from travelling from New York. it was an art show and he was the feature. he showed a slide show of his famous photos. his commmentary was funny of course. he was genuinely taken back by the number of people that showed up...i would say around 500 or so. he had his books for sale as well as some select 8x10 photos. the only beastie boys picture he was selling was a black and white picture of them skiing together. i believe it was taken on the first day of their tour from license to ill believe it or not. best ricky powell moment of the night was ..he had a local boston art/entertainment newspaper on the table where he was exhibiting, and he had it opened to expose the escort section. i was like...whats up with that...ricky replies...i am just trying to drop a hint for the ladies....classic
