I agreed with a lot of what Zorra said all along (including her comments about women who post sexy photos to get attention and the men who drool over them), but I didn't post after her in agreement. I decided not to because she's obviously so strong and cool that I figured she didn't need a loser like me posting after her all the time. As it was, I felt like her stalker sometimes because we're on at the same time and I think she's just so fabulous. Plus who cares what I think when I'm so outside the demographics of this board already.

People judge me all the time -- at work and in my personal life -- I deal with it. I care far more what I think about myself and whether I can live with my actions than what others think of me, but I have a tight-knit group of close friends who call me on my shit on a regular basis and I do the same for them. In fact, some of us made a pact.

About two years ago, I wondered why so many of my closest friends dislike each other. Then I realized that all of the people I'm attracted to share two characteristics: they're very smart and they're very opinionated. I don't do well with people who are so "nice" that they can't say anything negative or can't express an opinion. I love people who feel strongly about anything, whether they agree with me or not. Smart people are interested in things, so I can honor their obsessions even when I can't understand them. There are limits, of course. I have dropped acquaintances if I realize that they are overly dramatic, racist, or just cruel for the sake of being cruel, for instance.
