Since DangerDoom came out, I've been exploring some MFdoom shit.

I downloaded this album (supermiscellany) and can't get enough of the track "Quite Buttery."

It's only 1 minute long but damn if it ain't dope.

I'm so in love with this song, that I'll email a copy of it to anyone who wants it. Just PM me your email or post it here and I'll send it tonight.

What a track.

yep yep... 'quite buttery's' a good track... it was produced by Count Bass D... check the other track they did together, 'just to make a buck'... real funny stuff...

and while you're at it, if you don't have much Doom now...you need to definitely check for his first album (as MF Doom, that is) Doomsday, and well hell.... just get all his albums and don't miss out on any of his aliases... King Geedorah, Viktor Vaughn and Madvillain...

Doom is def. the man...

Pshabi I've been wondering about DOom for a while but I don't know where to start, which cd to but. I've been teetering on Buying his CD with him at the breakfast table with the cool Doom throw up peice in the upper right hand corner of the cover.

I used to be a big KMD fan as well as (Beastie haters) 3rd Bass becasue those two went hand in hand - Gas Face. My tape got bucked from me in college and now the KMD cd tape is premo $'s so I have to settle for a copied version from my buddy.

Where should I start in listening to Doom - which cd's?

Thanks for your help!

not to sound like a snob or anything but its pretty ironic that MF Doom is at his most popular when the bulk of what hes released in the past 2 years has been kinda weak ass in comparison to his early releases. Maybe Grimm did a lot of behind the scenes shit and when they parted ways he just took a turn for the sleep inducing.

Operation Doomsday is really the only thing he put out thats a REALLY good album, all the rest have some decent shit but nothing amazing. Unfortunately that'll never get re-pressed because he didnt clear shit on it and used a lot of pretty obvious samples.

you are right though, as great as he still is, he still hasn't touched OPeration Doomsday....

hes gonna have to change so much shit on it. I dont even know how itd be possible. Theres a Steely Dan sample, a Beatles sample...etc etc. Hes either gonna have to pay out the ass for sample clearance or make "remixes" of most of the tracks and scrap the marvel artwork he used.

When I first read that, I thought you had said "I'd rather suck on my own waste..." Oops.

Danger Doom was my official introduction to MF Doom... and I must say, I'm liking it quite a bit, aside from the unnecessary censoring. The track with Ghostface is super. (y)

in actuality, the cd was purposely censored by Doom... it's both something he does often... and it goes along with how cartoon network bleeps its shows...

It's like saying underground rap is overrated. Shit the beasties are overrated with the political stuff and save Tibet. Because they are overrated? Makes no sense. Fuck that, man. Nothing has to be an overrate and even if they are who cares - good for them they deserve that long wait for fame. Don't like them shut the fuck up and don't cause anymore trouble. Just stay with what you like and leave everyone else alone. (y)
