yeah I know some of you are like "NOW it's scary?"
anyway, someone that I met randomly (and they only knew my FIRST name and that I lived in San Diego) a few weeks ago found me on myspace, messaged me with the little "guess who this is" game, etc.
What the hell. How many Crystals are there in San Diego? a lot I imagine. So someone actually sat there, and sifted through all the Crystal's in San Diego to find me that met me for maybe an hour on a random Saturday night?
wtf?
creepy.
so that IS creepy! i knew it!

people can only search for your real name if they know it, I don't have it displayed on there. Furthermore, my first name isn't even IN my profile, or the header, to my knowledge.
Maybe it was the Halloween costume he remembered. He is not leaving me alone now though.
Myspace was nice when I found friends that I LIKE that I lost touch with. Maybe now that I found them, I should get rid of myspace... haha.

My one friend said I should go on myspace. I said that cocaine is fine with me.
beastieangel01
11-11-2005, 11:22 AM
haha.
A lot of friends I know in real life use it a lot to talk to me. Although, they did block it at work. So it's not like I can check it more than once a week anyway.
Oh well.
You are better off with cocaine.

I got in contact with one person from there that I lost contact with. Otherwise its a bunch of dorks I already knew both locally and internetly.

That is pretty creepy. I usually deny people becoming my friends if I don't know them from this board or my hometown/friends I already know...
Good thing I won't have to worry about creepy women stalkers.

admit it...
MySpace is an amateur porn site thinly disguised as an internet communal space.

Except, I can't sign up for a year. I left one school that is on there, and won't be at the next school that is listed there until next year. Soon :)

I always find it sad to see some profile of a deliberately skanky ho with a bunch of equally skanky men (who always post shirtless photos, etc.) and THEY ALL SAY THE SAME GODDAM THING!
"Hi sexy, thanks for the add. Hit me up sometime." -- Beefcake Douche No. 1
"Hello beautiful, thanks for adding me. Don't be a stranger, comment me back." -- Beefcake Douche No. 2
"Thanks 4 tha add! Damn, you hawt! Keep in touch. LOL" -- Beefcake Douche No. 3
I swear, are these people clones?

beastieangel01

and this is even more creepy since the same guy messaged me, again, yesterday.
I haven't answered, still. I never answer. Wtf.

Why don't you just block him? That would be easiest.
last week, two girls from high school found me. One I hated because she got all the leads in musicals (plus she was a bitch) and the other is just one of those terribly awkward people who now works as a security guard. I want to yell at these people - JUST BECAUSE WE WERE STUCK IN THE SAME BUILDING FOR 4 YEARS, DOESN'T MEAN WE NEED TO CATCH UP OR BE FRIENDS!!!!!!! I don't fucking get it!! Why?? Ugh.
beastieangel01
10-02-2006, 10:11 AM
yeah I decided to block him. My profile is on private regardless.
I just didn't think that a YEAR later this same dude would go out of his way to message me, again. Hence I didn't block him sooner.
i am totally a myspace stalker.

the more I monkey with myspace, the less I'm enjoying it and the more it gets boring. it'a rapidly losing it's novelty, like my Sony Minidisc Player hobby did years ago. although, the narcissism self-jack-off-fest aspect of it is still somewhat amusing to look at. it's amazing really.

I'm a really recent "convert" to myspace, it was pissing me off for a while going to local gigs/the occasional outdoor rave for up and coming bands/dj's and meeting up with people who would ask "whats your myspace" for arranging a meet up at the next gig or sorting out travel instead of "whats your email/mobile number".
So i signed up just 2 weeks back - it's not bad keeps me in touch with people/bands I like and everyone with an "add request" - unless they are another local band or person I know from "real life" or online just gets ignored/blocked. "Met up" with a few old friends who I'd kinda lost touch with so thats all good.
If some guy has his tee shirt off in his profile photo then avoid....
And it's maybe easier for me as a tall, average looking guy than a "hawt young chick LOL" etc...

yeah, I've just jumped on this thing. I got a profile predominantly to abuse my friends here, turns out you have to be myspace buddies with them too if you want to insult them. the element of surprise is totally lost. but now I've found that alot of you bastards have these pages too...hmmmm...interesting.

Ah fuck, someone from work found me. These are the kind of people that, you talk to in real life, and it's okay, and then you see how they choose to represent themselves on the internet (glittery shit, bad songs, pictures where they say "don't I look cute?", their choices in movies/music), and you're like OH GOD MAKE IT STOP
Big Gus
10-02-2006, 03:44 PM
Hey thats a good observation, I think everones "internet persona" and actually "living real life and socialising in work/recreation" are 2 very differnet things....
When they "mix" it's not always fun...

Tom sent out a message today, he wants to let everyone know his plans for November. There will be 2 types of MySpace accounts; Basic Users, and Power Users.
It will be free for people to sign up as Basic Users, but you will only be able to add Power Users as friends and have a basic page.
Power Users will be charged 9.95 per month, but they will be able to fully customize thier page and chat with whomever they like. They can add Basic Users, OR Power Users as friends.
Heres the thing. Tom is going to give out Power User accounts if you copy and paste this into a new bulletin. His plan is to keep the active users around to help sell the Power User accounts. Make sure you have this Buletin posted before October 31st or you will be defaulted to just a Basic User and lose all the people on your friends list.

Thats a lot of shit...
"Power Users"?? Like they'd call it that... Like "Power Rangers"? :p "Myspace 2"... The revenge??!
Theres several types of that same message doing the rounds. Just another shit viral message and I've only been using the service for 3 weeks... one says "Tom has no money left..." like Tom fucking runs things....
Rupert Murdoch owns Myspace... He also owns News International and several other huge media companies...
Check out the millions he's made in advertisement on, basically, a free forum for 100 billion customers in the past 12 months....

I'm not afraid of myspace... Stalking can also happen in the"real" world... at a bar, walking home from work through the parking lot... you know there are many situations. I feel a tiny bit safer in the cyber world, I don't need to keep my can of mace or pepper spray near my keyboard, Also I just absolutely refuse to live in fear. Ok so lets say for example... someone who happens to have superior hacking abilities ends up getting my personal information which I never give out anyway finds out where I live? okay so they follow me around or hide in the hedges on my front yard or watch me go to work every morning??? I usually have a mini can of pepperspray on my key chain.... and as far as home invasions, they'd have to step over a sleeping rottweiller (highly unlikely) and then withstand a couple of strikes to the back of the neck with my billy club!!!
