Yeah, what he^ said. The first album is pretty underrated. The second album had one good song, weak beats and featured Everlast using a ridiculous gruff vocal style. The third album, he was still using that stupid gruff voice but some of the beats were real nice. And it's safe to ignore most of Everlast's solo work.
Best songs in my opinion:
House And The Rising Son
Put Your Head Out
One For The Road
X-Files
roosta

The second album had one good song,
oh come on that second album was good.
and the butch vig remix of shamrocks and shenanigans is absolutely horrible. every video i find online to shamrocks and shenanigans has that damn awful music to it.

Yeah, I re-listened to that second album. It really is underwhelming. especially if you listen to it right after the first one. It just lacks....well, quite a lot.
Not that this counts but pete rocks remix of jump around is quite fantastic

i can't believe that the 2nd album is gettin' dissed. i loved it. i've always felt the production on that album was their best. i didn't think their first album was so strong though. the legend ep is dope and their last album was good too.

Same As It Ever is a well produced record . The first one was for the radio ....but that why these people think its good lol
I'm glad you rolled your eyes at the end of what you said.
The 1st album had probably like 2 radio-friendly songs on it. The 2nd album was just pretty corny. But I guess that's why you think it's good.

The second album kills the first album . I mean the first album is quite cheesy if you ask me it almost all filler. Mickey Mouse is in the house. It's all the same stuff Irsih & drunk wrapped in dirfferent songs.
There are some soild songs though but the second album is almost all good and I like there third album too which got glowing reveiws from Rap Pages and other rap magazines but all the little teeny boppers wanted to jump around.
House af Pains First album was their worst any real House of Pain fan & rap fan knows that. Everlast skills were not really there. Listen to HOP's last album and listen to Everlast he is really on. I mean Sadat X & Guru wouldn't do an album with him if just because their record company told them too.
Like freaking Method doing a single with Fred "pretty boy floyd" Durst for the Money $$$$.
All the fools who bought into that and have the audacity to say rap /rock that stuff is pure crappola LImp Bizkit/Korny/Insane Clown Posse are fools.
Korn was another goup who were fools and it took an Awesome New York Graffiti Artist - Claw to play dress up with them and make them Old School looking so that they matched that whole Rap / Rock thing.
Mark my Words without Claw dressing them up and styling their music Videos that played on MTV and made them starts to all the teeny boppers and disenchanted Mid Western & Southern youth they would be nothing to this day, now they music is still garbage but they are rich as all hell.
Korn & Durst almost personally destroyed Adidas for every one but thankfully their grills are not every where anymore.
This Summer CrapapaLooza with Korn/Limp Bizkit/Insane Clown Posse/Slipnot/Mushroon HEad/Vanilla Ice/Fred Durst Solo w/ the cowboy rapper guy Big & Rich from ESPN college game day.
They all can love it take exstacy/Methamphetamines/Ketamine/drink Hurricane 40's & moonshine and beat the hell out of each other in the mosh pit.
The fans to all these bands are the guys that date rape and beat up gay people. Oh sorry not all 98.5 %.
These are the kind of kids who watched Beavis & Butthead and then burned down a house and blamed it on the show.
That's why I'm so glad the Beastie Boys came out with an Album that was all Rap & Hip Hop, no Punk or Hardcore.
Just like when the Beastie Boys decided NO MORE MOSHING becasue all the new Frat boy and dumb fans were using it as an excuse to grab girls bottoms and grope other girls chests and steal little kids money.
Too bad there were no cool Jazzy/Funky instrumentals though.

bro your opinion on what i like is very irrelevant too me.
most of the true hip hop dj's i know respect the 2nd record more then the first.
go listen to the Fugees dude
:D
I think my initial comments kinda indicated that it was only my opinion that the second album was booty and that the first album was superior in every way.
Anyway, I look at at it like the first album is like the first Cypress album and Same As It Ever Was is like their Black Sunday; same idea as the first album, only the vocals were weak and the production was poorly executed.

Their first album might be better but Black Sunday is still a damn good album.

Son Doobie only did like one movie.
Funkdoobiest is probably the only Soul Assassins affiliated group that dropped a superior sophmore album.

A 3rd bass and House of Pain threads. Is it white rapper day?
The Men in Blue from A Prince Among Thieves (Prince Paul) is a great track featuring Everlast.
Other than that, not a fan.

Jump Around was originally a beat for Funkdoobiest.
They were an iller group, for sure.
Look for Wapbopalubop feat. Cypress Hill, or the Funkdoobiest remix of Stoned is the way of them walk.

House of Pain- Life Goes On (from 1st album)
House of Pain- Over There Shit (from 2nd album)
