Here's my Open Letter - SPRING STREET MIX (http://www.skot1.com/skot1_nyc.mp3) Listen here (http://www.skot1.com/skot1_nyc.mp3)

I played all bass and guitar as usual and there's a lot of subtle changes. Hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think!
Thanks

Haha! Wusup BH!?

I'ts been a hard days night.
Been re-finishing guitars and working a crap job and taking care of my 2 year old (that's the fun part) (y)

I've got a secret stash of remixes coming though, and yeah, everything on my remixes is by me. Cuts, bass, guitar, keys, I even have snares lying around for sampling.

Enjoy! Thanks for the comments! What's your newest work?

Dude, that mix is tha shit. You're doin' exactly what I WANT to be doin' but I'm a half assed musician. What program are you using?

Really liked it, keep it up!

Thanks Ess!

I wouldn't even consider myself a musician, I NOODLE around more than anything then loop it. I play my instruments through pedals first, sometimes amps, etc. then into ACID along with a beat for tempo.

Best thing to do is listen to tunes that you really dig, loop a part of it you like and learn that part on guitar, bass, whatever.
Then change it up, a different note here or there, a pause, etc.

Play to the beat then loop yourself, then start stacking more sounds. Dirty up your own sounds to make it sound like a sample from a record.

I used to sample everything (I'm still a cheeky/cocky bastage with the SP-1200)
but when you hear everyone using the same crap, it gets old quick. The minute "Check Your Head" was released, I thought "Why sound like everyone else when you can create your own music and then make it sound like a crate that noones ever dug through before?"

I owe about 75% of my musical creativeness to the Beasties, I try to say thanks by making good remixes of their music.

Last Note: If you know some musician's, ask them questions, about chords, tones, effects, whatever, a lot of them are really cool and like to help. You get the occassional "Mr. Know-It-All but won't tell" but don't get discouraged. If I could help, just ask! (y)

Oh yeah...go to my site to hear the other Beastie Remixes. Enjoy the tasty licks!
