Well done, Uruguay. They did play very well. It was an excllent game even though we lost. We just couldn't convert our chances, and we had a few. It was hard fought game by both teams. If it was an arse-kicking ,Zippo, you would have beaten us 4-0, because Uruguay had plenty of chances to finish us off in the 2nd half.

And there's still the second leg to play, so don't count your chickens just yet. By Wednesday evening Uruguay will be flying home a very dejected, heartbroken team.

T'was a better effort than last time we played in Uruguay. All we have to do now is beat you 1-0 or better and we at least go to penalties...

Last night, I got the wrong end of the stick. I thought Australia has won. Which is why I said, I'm glad they won.

I need to read things better...

Its probably because Anglo-saxons use the term "vamoos" in place of "go away", whereas I think the literal translation is just "go". Thats what probably confused you because it confused me too for a while :o

i agree, it was a good game although not excellent. the first half was rather boring, and the only time Australia actually fought back. then the 2nd half was way more exciting, when Uruguay woke up and started kicking some ass, and when the ball was mostly concentrated in the aussie arc. you aussies dont have much creativity when youre in the goal zone though, youre too predictable.

and the other thing i was saying, was that your goalie robbed us of a penalty goal (eng?) when he kicked Recova in the knee! that was bullshit and i dont know how the referee didnt charge that!

and who was that number 9?? my god hes got quite the attitude haha.

alright scotty, your guys may be built like tanks but you cant get anywhere with just muscles, your techniques and creativity arent even close to Uruguay´s, so id like to let you know, now, in this thread, that this wendesday, will suck just as much as saturday did for you guys.

YOU KNOW IT *flexes arms, grits teeth and does the crazy eyes*

Oh, in Portuguese it's the same word and the it's also translated as "let's go", the only difference is in the pronounciation of the "v" which is really veeee not beeee.:D

And how did you get your goal? From some shonky ref decision that should have gone our way. Chipperfield was moving away from the ball, not even contesting possession, and Morales(?) just moved straight into him. That's football, champ, so stop fuckin' complaining.

Vamoose is used in English to basically mean "leave, now!".

crap, i dont remember the play before that corner well, but, i do remember the goal. i definetly dont remember it being unfair though. the ref still shouldve charged that penalty though.

Australia going to Germany 2006. That was a sensational game of football. 1-0 after extra time winning 4-3 on penalties. Mark Schwarzer is a complete legend saving that second penalty. Viduka owes him big after missing his penalty. But we all owe him for being the best keeper in the world.

Big cheers to the Uruguayans, too. They played a massive game themselves, they defended with their life in the second half even though they were dog tired. Their tenacity and desperation made the game.

But its all about the Aussies. Thats right, Australia in the World Cup. Watch out, motherfuckers.

Like I said in the other thread, condoleances to Zippo and congrats to the Aussies!
