They have the 6GB ones on sale through Best Buy for $149. I thought it was a good deal for a brand-new MP3 player, but I wasn't sure if they'd have even better deals after Thanksgiving. Maybe I should wait and ask for it for Christmas. Or maybe I should get it now. They have them used on Ebay for $170, so I figured this was pretty good.
I dunno.
i'm no expert, but that seems like a fantastic price to me. i think i paid $200 for mine (well, my parents did, it was a birthday present) and that was well worth it.

Did you get the Zen Micro, or another type of MP3 player?

i have a zen touch and if micros are anything like touch then get it.
Did you get the Zen Micro, or another type of MP3 player?
yeah, zen micro (5gb, too, so if you can get a 6 for less, do it)
I have the 5GB Zen Micro and I like it.

How the hell do you charge the battery, too? Do you have to buy a separate kit? It doesn't look like a normal double-A so I have no idea. :-/
And what about car accessories? I know the Ipod has a special FM Transmitter so you can listen to it through your radio. I haven't found anything on the Creative Website, but maybe I need to try harder.
Doesn't the charger come in the box with the player?

It says it comes with:
High-fidelity earphones
rechargeable lithium-ion battery
USB 2.0 cable
installation CD
quick start guide
So I don't know if that means "charger included."
if i remember right, mine came with the charger included. i ordered mine from the creative website directly though, so who knows.
you don't need to replace the battery (to my knowledge, maybe at some point you do need to), you just recharge it. it takes 3 hours to recharge and the battery lasts for 12. easy as pie, just plug it in.

Well, shit. I may just have to get this then.
yeah, i haven't had any complaints with mine, it's very nice. my only warning is "don't drop it", because i did that once, and i had to send it in for repairs. i didn't drop it very hard, but it did land on a hard wood floor, so it landed just badly enough to break, apparently.
what's nice, though, is that even though that was technically not covered in the warranty (i read it, and the warranty doesn't cover it if it's your fault), they replaced it for free. so that was nice. they were very fast, too.
edit: oh, and i think i remember reading somewhere that it's not recommended that you use it for jogging or other strenuous physical activities. i forget why, but they said not to expose it to too much shock, or something. i like mine for my purposes though, i listen to it when i walk to class, while i study, at work, etc.
It says "charger included" on my box, but not on the website. So that's weird. I also got a replacement battery, which might come in handy one day.
Oooh, silly me. You can charge it with the USB cable.

Hurray! Okay, I bought it. :)
$163 after taxes and shipping, I got the dark blue 6GB. Now I gotta find some sort of FM transmitter and ask for it for Christmas.

Because I'm both partially broke, and I only have about 3 gigs of music. I don't even know if I'll be able to fill 6 gigs. 3,000 songs is a lot to me.

YAY for the zen micro, I love mine. I use the USB to charge it when I go to work. I prbablly charge it once or twice a week and it's fine for my daily bike commute.

Now, when you start listening to podcasts, let me know about good ones. Okay?
That thing looks awfully sweet. I'd need more memory though. :o

I think I'm going to spring for a 20 gig iRiver, as I have about 15 gigs of music.
But I've only listened to like a third of it.
I have a habit of just downloading music and never listening to it.

I got it in the mail today. It seems pretty cool, but I can't try it out yet because the battery's still charging.
And oh yeah. I found out that after burning like 30 albums to my computer, they're in .m4a format and won't play on Creative...so do I have to reburn them or is there an easy way to get around that in ways of reformatting?
