anyone recommend any good programs to take the vocals out of one song so you just have the music (I think you know where I'm going with with)?

Free would be good.

Thanks.

karaoke softwares might do it. Basically it strips the center channel. If you can find the "real" B-side mental, it's much better.

Anyway just google it, you'll find what you need.

Unless it's an oldie or the master tape, it won't work.

Oldies usually had the vocals hard panned to one side and the music panned to the other due to old 4-track recording

LEFT SPEAKER: Drums, guitar, bass RIGHT SPEAKER: Vocals

There's no magical way to rip vocals from a song. There used to be and old ad in the back of some magazines with some guy singing (kinda' looked like Adrock with a cheap 70's mustache) and they claimed that you could remove vocals but I think they just sent you a tape of popular instrumentals.

All you need is a Beastie Acapulco anyway. Why remix anyone else? ;)

Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure DJ Dangermouse just used the acapella tracks Jay Z released as part of the Jay Z Construction Set and combined it with loops he created from The White Album.
