And I'm jetlegged to fuck.

It was a great trip though, really loved the place. I don't think I've ever walked that much in my whole life, but the walking probably saved me from putting on loads of weight from all the food I ate.

If anyone is looking for a really nice, decent priced hotel in Midtown you could do a lot worse than staying at QT on West 45th (near the corner of 6th Ave)

Um, went past Murray's cheese shop on a bus! Drove through Brooklyn (I say drove, I was on a Gray Line bus), the whole of Downtown, Midtown, Uptown and Harlem.
apart from that just mostly touristy stuff, eating and shopping.
It was good times, and Jenn and I are already planning our next trip.

When we got to the airport last night Virgin had a sign up asking for volunteers to fly out today instead, and they would put you up in a hotel and give you free round trip tickets to anywhere except Sydney. So we signed up, only to find out 5 minutes before the flight left that they weren't over on their bookings (probably for the first time ever), so we missed out on a free trip. At least they gave us vouchers for the on-board duty free

Ride the Staten Island Ferry, it's free and you get really good view of Manhattan and Brooklyn, plus you go right past the Statue Of Liberty.....which is much better than paying money to stand on an overcrowded ferry only to find out you can't stand far enough away from the statue to get a decent photo.

And if you like cheesecake you must try Jimmy's, they have a place in Brooklyn and another in the food hall at Grand Central Terminal....best cheesecake ever (y)

I know people are always saying how many fat people there are in the US, but in New york the majority of the (under 40s) women I saw were pretty hot.....there were some fine asses to be seen. Jenn even pointed a few out for me (y)

nice man, i went to NY last month, and stayed at 47th and between 5th and 6th, pretty much a few steps away from Times Square

Great place eh?

i went to Pauls Boutique and Toms Restaurant(seinfeld's diner, monks)

Yeah the only problem was we were only there for four days, and it was difficult fitting everything in. But it's a good excuse to go back (not that i would ever need an excuse)

4 days aint enough, i did...5 or 6 days? it was jammed packed though, 2h city tour on the Hudson river, Games 3 and 4 at Yankee stadium, brooklyn, pauls boutique, times square, empire state building, official yankee store, gugenheim museum, planetarium....NYC has too much to do.

I really wanted to go to the MoMa but it was a case of trying to fit in everything that all four of us wanted to do. So I'll have to wait til next time.
Times square is a slightly mental place, it was at the end of our street, and the crowds there were ridiculous. It was funny one day, cos Jenn and I had been to see what movies were on at the Loews, and on the way back to the hotel the road was blocked by all these black Denalis and limos, and there were hundreds of young girls screaming everywhere.
After the cars were gone, Jenn asked a girl who they were all screaming for...turns out Lindsay Lohan had just left the MTV studio. It was really funny, al these kids screaming and the girl that Jenn spoke to was shouting "You suck, eat some fucking food!" :D

No, it wasn't Jenn shouting, it was the girl she asked.

Hehe! Well yeah.....but it was unusually warm and sunny on a couple of the days. But I'm a pale North European, what can you do? (except maybe use sunscreen, but I was expecting cold and cloudy weather)

Ahh dude, that was how I got my free trip to Japan! (y)

Sorry you missed out on the deal though, maybe next time. Scoring free airline tickets = superawesome.

Yeah we were so excited about the possibility, then totally pissed when they said we weren't needed....there were three couples sitting around talking about where we were going to go. But never mind, we're probably still going back to the US in Jan or Fab to see Jenn's brother in Virginia....we'll just have to pay to get there!

Mine and mr.p's new strategy now is, always book the last flight of the night out, because that's the one that it seems you're most likely to get bumped from and "have to" stay overnight.
