one of my first post on this MB was concerning this band, and I didn't receive much info on the subject. I'm familiar with the line-up and the brief history, but I'm still very curious about a band who was constantly refered to as very young and unable to play well, seemed to always be spoken highly of. From the few comments on the band that I read, they were very well regarded and loved. Even on the DVD "Horseplay", John Berry said they blew everyone away. I know there are no interviews or articles, but maybe someone who was there like Adam, Mike,Adam, or anyone who was there or has insight could expound on this. I think it's a shame that this history appears to be lost.

Thanks for the info 9thbeastie. Beastiemania is a great site, and they're definitely on their job trying to fill in the gaps. I'm just wondering where all the promotional and performance photos went. I mean, we have more info of the early formation of the Beasties, photo, film and transcript wise. I'm just saying, that if people were that in impressed with The Young and Useless, it seems there would be more documentation left behind. In the "Looking Down the Barrel..." video, there was footage of them being interviewed over the radio. Where is that and other things like it? Someone had to film or take pictures at the Ratcage Benefit. There has to be more out there. I hoping Yauch or the other Beasties could throw us a tidbit or two. Fuck it... c'mon Adrock, it was your band, I know you got some shit!

When I was young, I thought it useless to please the rain god during a dry season.
