Thought it would be cool to get a list of some resources for learning about politics. I help run a site called www.ZEROHOUR.com.
It's a non-profit site that displays current political news, we have a resident D.C. insider that blogs, a growing database of political profiles, featured essays, a "public official of the week" feature, and a feature called "dick move of the week" that tracks what bull VP Cheney is pulling this week. There is still a lot of work to do but we are doing our best to make it a valuable resource for people learning about politics and current events.
Visit if you get a chance. www.ZEROHOUR.com
There is also a new essay on how Wal-Mart's business practices effect everyone in the U.S. Here is a preview:
Wal-Mart: Who Pays For the Savings?
By Ryan Lothian - November 15, 2005
Whether Wal-Mart likes it or not (and it doesn’t), its pioneering style of business and its real effects on America are becoming a hot topic in the media. Is the way Wal-Mart conducts business good for America? The answer depends on how you look at it. Wal-Mart and others would argue that it provides low prices and makes high profits, which is good for the consumer and the economy. These low prices and high profits, however, come at a cost that cannot necessarily be measured in dollars, and for that reason it has been long ignored. Some of the victims include the Wal-Mart suppliers, the shrinking American manufacturing base, thousands of American workers (including those working at Wal-Mart) and the American taxpayer.
