So I've got my old job back since I'm in the states working on a military base as an armorer which means I store soldiers weapons and issue them as required. Anyhow, we had a new unit come in to store their weapons and there was a full bird colonel who had a very shitty attitude. He was getting in front of line which is abuse of his rank and he tried to get his units weapons turned in before the people waiting in line. He said some shit like, "I've got a memo here that states I have a time line to turn in the weapons". I told him, "sir, that memo was generated by me and there isn't a timeline. It's just stating that we will "start" taking your weapons at such and such date. Next thing you know, he was swearing. Saying "I don't need this fucking shit, I've spent 20 years in the military..." and by that time I cut him off.

I told him that through my 8 years of military career I do know that a civilian carries more rank than the highest ranking official in the military and should be treated with respect because as a soldier it's your duty to serve. I then told him that you stated you've been in for 20 years and you should damn sure know that by now.

Anyhow, I was pretty irate with him and told him to turn his unit around and come back tomorrow because I do not feel like assisting him.

If he were a lower rank, I would go through his chain of command to bust his ass down but since he's a high ranking officer, it takes an act of congress and a whole shitload of paperwork to do that. I just hope he comes in tomorrow with a better attitude.

Yeah, they go to West point (the majority of them that is). You get some real goombas that just want to fly by in the military by being a supply ranger or an airborne cook. You do see some professional officers but very seldom unless they're warrent officers who actually earned what they got.

The proffessionalism usually comes from the N.C.O's who do plan to make a career out of it and most likely will retire from the military.

I enjoyed the story, but since you already knew you told him there was no use for others to say that.

I'm just waiting for him to show up again. He should be here in about 4 hours, it's the same time he came in yesterday. I really hope someone is standing in line before him. Hopefully he tries to use his rank as an advantage again and try to cut in front of the line. I'll just have to turn him around again and tell him to come back in a couple days this time.

Stab him in the stomach, and then send him on his way (y)

Cool, I just got finished with him and his troop. Totally different attitude and yesterday wasn't even mentioned. I guess he decided two in the morning is too damn early for anybody's shitty attitude. His in general.
