No I'm sorry, by far the best line is when the blonde (I can't believe I don't remember her name, I've seen it a thousand times) leaves the guy to see George across the street, and the guy goes "We'll wait for ya, baby".
Or when Nick says "Tru da door or out da window!"

..doesn't George say to the driver something like, "How's your WIFE!?" and the guy says, kind of baffled/agitated, that he needed to go home and "check on her"?

That scene where they share the telephone is pretty hot. And that weird roughness where he grabs her and demands that he doesn't want to etc. etc. and then just plunges right in. Whoa.

I was doublepluspleased to read David Cronenberg namechecking It's a Wonderful Life many years back as a very brutal movie that definitely earns its sentimentality. It's a fucking harsh, harsh film that puts George through the wringer in such an almost sadistic way; I can't begrudge it even the shoddy Universe Special Effects.
And that kid who plays Georgie as a young boy never gets his props, either. He's good.
