I met AdRock and got to chill with him, super cool guy! Read! =]

I'm 19 and this was about 4 or 5 years ago. I would have posted this story earlier but didn't think anyone would really care, but I decided what the hell. My father used to date AdRock's mom in NYC (Doris) before she passed away. This was when her and Israel (Adrocks dad) were divorced. My dad spent a lot of time with Adam and they became pretty close.

Fast forward like 20 years...

Anyways we (my parents and I, I was like 14 at the time) were in NYC visiting some friends who had grown up with Adam, and they happened to live in the building right next to where he was currently living. We were having a bbq on their back porch (they had a really nice brownstone in the city, mucho $$) and decided to call up Adam.

Like two hours later he actually showed up. Him and my dad talked (Adam hadn't seen my dad since he was like 12 years old but still remembered him very well!) My dad introduced my to him and I got to chill out with him on their back patio and just talk and listen to him tell stories and everything. He signed my Licensed to Ill cd "To my brother Max, Adrock!" He was super chill and relaxed, totally down to earth.

He gave us his contact information and that winter my dad contacted him, and Adam sent up a package for me for my birthday. It contained a copy of The Sounds of Science Anthology, a signed Hello Nasty CD from all 4 members, a cd of drum break beats (b/c i discussed how i wanted to get into making music), and a hand-written letter from him personally to me talking about different software, etc.

I just want to say that Adrock is truly an awesome guy, 100% down to Earth, and really does care about his fans. This was a great experience for me and I hope to meet up with him again in the future.
