....because they were looking for someone wearing a hoodie. I live in north east of scotland so of course I'm gonna try stay warm at this time of year.

I then explained I was going to a weekly jazz show at a local hotel. I think they were quite shocked that someone dressed like me would be interested in jazz.

I'm also drunk right now.

'sup.

I got stopped on my bike by a cop two days ago. Threw on his lights and everything.

I was riding just to my side of the center stripe and he barked at me to ride by the curb. This act made two cars also stop and he generally kind of screwed up traffic for a minute and one of the cars almost got me. Nice going, but I didn't feel like arguing, so I waved the cars on and then rode over to the curb, rode about ten feet, then went back to the stripe since what I had been DOING was getting into the left hand turn lane.

Yeesh.

Hoody.... like, as in sweatjackets with hoods? Or like "hoodlums," "neighborhoods," or "foreskin"?

Can the sign be more specific, please?

Hoodie. (http://ipath.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/unity-hoodie.jpg) Something of ASBO attire.

ASBO wouldn't mean anything to you Americans, so we'll call 'em 'shitbags of society.'

Hey, it's not me saying that that's how they are, how about the British government? (http://www.thenewspaper.org.uk/home/pg000324.php)

More proof of how ignorant people are. You cannot judge people by age or by dress.

Not so; all 62 year-olds in dresses are suspect.

Since all that hoody stuff came out. I'm always wearing a hoddy, or try to, just to scare people, cus I'll look at them as I pass in the street and often they try to avoid eye contact and then when I'm close enough I give them a friendly smile and often they automatically smile back - like a reaction which I think is pretty cool cus then more people are smiling in the world.

It's funkin freezing in the North of England at the moment. I'd imagine scotland is about 20 below aright now!

Yeah I try to give everyone a friendly "dont worry I'm not going to kill you, despite the fact I'm wearing a hoodie" smile

I always wondered why neds (short for non-educated delinquents to the non Scottish here) always dress the same until I saw some Asian guys making the mistake of wandering on a Friday night around the small village where I used to live.

I could tell that there was going to be trouble and when it started all I could have told the police was that it was a bunch of guys in shell suits, hoodies and baseball caps - which is basically half the teenage population of Britain.

It suddenly made me think that it possibly isn't just a poor fashion statement these arseholes are making. Maybe they've realised that if they all dress and look exactly the same they are almost impossible to identify.
