It's only one of the top ten movies of all time at the box office.

The whole podracing scene was awesome and Darth Maul was a kick-ass villain.

Sure, it had it's problems, but no movie is perfect....except maybe Citizen Kane and/or Casablanca....

Being one of the top ten means nothing. It just means people WANTED to see it, were excited to see it, and were willing to pay money to see it in mass numbers. It doesn't mean it was a great movie. The first Star Wars that came out in the 1970's were complete hits - of COURSE everyone went to go see the first movie of the series; it had only been built up by George Lucas for 30 years! There's a difference between "not being perfect" and being horrible. Jar-jar and that Anakin kid? Fucking annoying as hell.

Let's just put it this way: This was my first Star Wars movie I ever saw, and because of this, I refuse to see the others.

Anyhow, Jar JAr wasn't all THAT bad....his voice is kinda fun to emulate when you really want to annoy someone.

Also, of course the hype was gonna be high and the letdown equally high. THAT's why I almost never see a movie after opening weekend...I don't want to be influenced by everyone else's opinions.

And, Queen, you're really missing out on Ep. II and III - the fight scenes are awesome, the acting gets better, Jar JAr's barely in them, and Yoda starts to kick some serious ass....
