Now, I'm not asking for your personal favorite '80s movie. I'm asking what would you perceive as the movie that makes the public at large all nostalgic for the '80s when they watch movies from that decade.
Wait for the poll...
Don't need a poll. Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?! You put Baby on the poll and left out Spicoli. Dude, I never believed them when they said you were gay, but I'm not so sure anymore.

What about Risky Business?
If Rebecca DeMornay getting popped on the train by Tom Cruise isn't totally emblematic of the '80's, then what the heck is?

I voted Ferris Bueller's Day Off, but Fast Times at Ridgemont High is good too!

Baby? The fuck you talking about?
My bad on the omission of Fast Times. There's LOTS of iconic '80s movies.

Ok.
Point taken.
I think we could have an "early" 80's poll and a a "late" 80's poll and be more specific....
Fast Times was more like a late '70's movie, while Risky Business was DEFINITELY all '80's....
BTW, I used to go to the Perry's Pizza that Jen Leigh works at in the movie all the time when the Galleria in Sherman Oaks first opened....
Just sayin

Back to the future. They're all fine films except for Dirty Dancing, though. There's quite a lot that were missing. The Terminator, Top Gun, Revenge of the Nerds and Robocop to name a few.

Well then you're nuts, ROTJ came out in 1983.
It's a sequel. A carryover from the '70s era (not to mention the weakest movie of the first SW trilogy). I admit many omissions in this poll, but this ain't one of them.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off hands down.

It's Going To take A Miracle.
Pee Wee's Big Adventure - Pee Wee's bicycle, the keenest bike in the world, is missing. It's his most prized possession...and he's just got to get it back !
QUICKSILVER- Kevin Bacon (Jack Casey) is pedaling for all he's worth as a bicycle messenger on a collision course with danger.

BMX Bandits is a much better BMX movie than this. Its got sound effects for when they go over jumps and everything - even a young Nicole Kidman.
Its an Australian cult classic. It might pretty hard for you to find, though.
