Anyone here ever try a Sidekick? I'm thinking about getting the new Sidekick II and am wondering if you folks have experienced them..or t-mobile in general.

Is it the Razor? Yeah those are nice. Motorola makes a good mobile in general.

What's fucked up though is the states is way more advanced than the middle east but, you have to go with a cellular phone company under their contract to get a mobile. In the mid east, you can buy any brand mobile and just buy a sim card for either pay as you go or contract. I've got a Sony S700i which is tri band which means I can use it anywhere just by switching the sim card out.

I'm using the t mobile pay as you go option now.

I got the cheaper version of that. I was told I'd be able to get a w800i for free with my new contract but the cell phone company person didn't know what the fuck he was talking about.

I got a k750i instead. Same phone, different firmware.

The sidekick is adorable, but I can't imagine using it as your phone. I know it can be a phone, but I can't imagine talking into it. My friend has it and she uses it only for email and minor web surfing.

I got the littlest Blackberry instead because it's more phone like but also rocks at email. It's not so good for web surfing, but you can bring up map quest in a pinch. I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon trying to download new software for my Blackberry because of a glitch Blackberry knew about. Turns out you can't fix your phone unless you have a PC and I don't, and I don't have any friends that do, so it was a giant pain.

I switched to t-mobile because I wanted to email from foreign countries on the blackberry. My old cell phone company was Verizon and they had more coverage area in rural places and way better signal strength.

yeah, that's what I've got too. I'm not a big "phone" person, I can go days without using it and usually when I do it's just to phone mr.peachy to find out what time he'll be home for supper. But it's one of those things that when you need it, you need it, and it's damn convenient.

I installed some software on my pc that allows me to control my pc with my phone. It was bizarre to turn the volume up and down, skip songs etc while on the other side of the floor.

The new Sony's can do that stuff out of the box!

so my wife fell in love with this one Nokia. All it is is just a pure white version of this (http://www.grovelands.com/acatalog/nokia_7200_mobile_phones.jpg) . It's limited edition so there's only 3,000 made which makes it very expensive. I bought in in Kuwait for 225 dinar which is about $700. Come to find out, it's only dual band and has none of the good stuff, not even bluetooth. The price never depreciates on it but the one in the picture sells for only about $100 now.
