i'm talking in your poersonal collection

which one don't you give enough props too? what album do you always enjoy to listen too, but never really mention it when talking about your favorite albums.

for me:

the ark - we are the ark

i love the upbeat nature of the whole thing, and i love to listen to the whole thing, but i never really think of it as one the albums that i would hate to not have

Great Topic, there are so many underrated or should I say albums which don't sell yet are excellent. I don't know where to begin, a few have been on rotation this week so I'll begin with them,

House of Love (House of Love)
James (Laid)
Redd Kross (Neurotica)

All 3 are over a decade old, yet sound fresh, crisp and great! XLNT stuff (y)

The Sonics - "Here Are The Sonics"

A huge, huge precursor for punk music. This may have been done in the '60s, but it'll still manage to kick your ass even today. The force and power have not been tempered one little bit.

Even the cover songs ("Good Golly Miss Molly", "Walking The Dog") pack a fresh wallop. (y)

Marcy Playgrounds first self titled album...

It's absolutely amazing, but since I have yet to hear any of their other LP's, I don't really throw them in with my favorite artists list...

Sybris was great live last month, but only
50 people showed up to the NYC show.
That is underrated.

Bias B...that brings back memories of year 9 for some reason. Only track I have on my computer by him is melbourne madness, solid track (y) not the best production though (n) but I had a friend who was really into him so I can dig it.

For me, and you're gonna laugh, but it has to be "Snoop Dogg Presents the Eastsidaz". Okay, so it was kinda gimmicky, but it had some really good early snoop styles on it, and shits on anything hes done since doggystyle in my opinion. Also the second one wasnt too bad either. G'd up is a fucken solid lead single.

Which one of them? They've got one on Fontana and two on Creation with the same title! I totally fell in love with them with their first album (on Creation). Saw them live a few weeks ago and they still blew me away.

There's so many albums that I really like, but I can't fit all the bands in my Top 20 can I?

Some that I really enjoy when I put them spinning:

All Seeing I - Pickled eggs & sherbet
Marc Almond - The Stars we are
Buffalo Tom - Smitten
Cato Salsa Experience - A good tip for a good time
Delakota - One love
dEUS - The ideal crash
Drugstore - White magic for lovers
Gun Club - Miami
PJ Harvey - Rid of me
Joe Jackson - Night and day
Janis Joplin - Pearl
Cyndi Lauper - Hat full of stars
Lords of the Underground - Here come the Lords
Morrisey - Viva Hate
the Nonce - World ultimate
Kari Peitsamo ja Ankkuli - Vedestä nousee kasvi
Pere Ubu - The art of walking
Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Rock art and the x-ray style
10cc - Sheet music
Thirteen Moons - Going against the tide - A compilation 1985-1993
Throwing Muses - Hunkpapa
Tiger Lou - Is my head still on?
Urusei Yatsura - We are Urusei Yatsura
Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes
Scott Walker - The best of Scott vol 1
Weeping Willows - Broken promise land
Wings - Venus and Mars
Wreckless Eric - The wonderful world of Wreckless Eric

Black Sabbath's "Never Say Die!" gets a lot of flack, but it's a good listen; it's almost like watching an exhausted band pulling itself in a million directions in search of some cohesion, delaying the ineveitable collapse that will befall them.

Underrated and disjointed, in a beautiful sort of way.

Yeah, I fucking love that album. I hated Blur all through the 90's. Then they put on some weight, lost a guitarist and smoked weed in Morocco. A winning formula.
