I went to buy Solid Gold Hits today, but I noticed it was copy protected.
I've heard that US and UK releases are less likely to have copy protection. Does the US release have copy protection? I might wait until I'm down there to pick up a copy. I've never bought a copy protected CD and I never will.

I have not had a problem making a copy or transferring it to my ipod.

No the US release is normal... Just remember only make copies for your personal back-up! (y) I wish I would have gotten one of those horrible sony copy protected discs so I can get in on that lawsuit! LOL!

I'm not going to download it. It's a matter of principle.
I'm not even planning to rip or copy the CD. I've already bought most of the albums and I really only want the DVD. It would be nice to have the Licensed to Ill and Paul's Boutique tracks on CD cause I bought them on cassette.
Since it sounds like Capitol Records USA doesn't treat their customers like criminals, I'll buy the American version when I'm down there.

You need to get a grib homeboy. I've bought 3 copies of Solid Gold Hits and I really don't plan on buying another copy. I think the "B" side should be released to all the fans of the US via the MB or some other means. Even a single with the live version of Brass Monkey (in the U.S.) and throw the remix of rrnn on it and maybe the video as well.
Another idea (lb) , release it to Itunes. I'm not a fan of itunes, but it would be alot better than having to shell out another 25 to 35 bucks on another copy of SGH's.
I bought the cd/dvd and 2 copies of the vinyl.

How much did you pay for the vinyl? I saw it for $26.99 upto 29.99... I mean its great and all but they should slip in the extra dvd or some stickers at least for that price... There is a place in my town selling TT5B vinyl for $39.99 and *SHOCKINGLY* they still have all the copies of it, since it came out. I'm sticking with the cd/dvd combo for $20.

I bought my copies for 21.99 + 10% a piece because I have a part time job at a music store.

How's $18.99 for you? See my earlier post (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showpost.php?p=1045388&postcount=5) on this topic.
Cant find it for that cheap in my town. Is that for the vinyl?
