The Prodigy are fu*king awesome. The Beastie Boys have some kind of problem with them. At some concert they (BB) asked them (P) to change some song lyrics or something. There was some story like that awhile back.

The BBoys asked Liam Howlett not to perform Smack My Bitch Up cuz it promotes violence to women or some shit. The Prodigy basically said "er have you heard your first album recently?" and performed it anyway. So now the Prodigy think the BBoys are a bunch of nerds and the BBoys think Prodigy are young ruffians.

I left it too late to book for Brum, there were only seats left. You don't see the Prodigy and sit down, I said you don't go and see the Prodigy to sit dooon!

Everybody in the seated section was dancing too! Looking up from the floor it was a writhing mass of people; especially with the old-skool encore. Here's the set-list...
Break & Enter
Wake the Fuck Up
Usual Suspects fill*
Their Law
Jericho
Breathe
Hotride (El Batori/Passenger Mix)
Spitfire
Back to School
Firestarter
No Good (Start the Dance)
Warning
Claustrophobic Sting
Voodoo People
Encore:
Poison/Diesel Power
Smack My Bitch Up
Charly
Climbatize
Out of Space

Nice. I'll bet 'Spitefire' sounded phenomenal. I'm hoping they'll show up at some festivals, I was really mad at myself for leaving it late.

same festival, different state.
i had been anticipating that day for so long. grandmaster and prodigy on the same day. does life get any better? no, but it gets worse.
i woke up the day of the festival as sick as anything. my whole body was aching and i had a 40 degree temp. was i going to miss out? hell no. my mum was lecturing me about how sick i was going to be after. did i care? hell no.
couldn't make it in time for grandmaster, which was ok, cos i'd seen him play for four hours in a club the year before (best night evar!!) but prodigy were on at about 8pm, so i medicated myself and dragged my sick ass out to mulberry farm.
i got right into the crowd, at the front, to the left of stage. this is where maxim spent most of his time  got plenty of keef action as well. probably got germs all over the people next to me, but man were the prodigy awesome.
i love always outnumbered never outgunned so hearing those songs live(ish) made my day.
i've seen them a few time, but that was the closest i'd been to the stage so better atmosphere. a summer night outdoors in perth, mad (y)

it was a beefed up version of the original; lots of extra drums, but not the d&b one.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. It's got all the videos bar 'Jericho', a live show from Brixton in 1997 and loads of other bits and bobs including other live tracks from Moscow, Glastonbury and Pink Pop as well as behind the scenes stuff for Firestarter, Poison, Voodoo People and Out of Space.

Ignorance mate, it's everywhere!
Anyway cheers for the DVD info, I'll have to look into it. On the Prodigy I actually played Baby's...for the first time in ages yesterday, it wasn't all that bad really. What you think of them new tunes on the singles bonus disc (if you've got that one)?

When did they announce that? Hook me up with the dates/locations, please. I don't see them on the official site.
This announcement went up on the main site;
Great news for all the US fans, The Prodigy's number one album 'Their
Law - The Singles' will be unleashed upon America on the 7th February
2006. Four months after the release to the rest of the world America can
now also go down memory lane and enjoy the magic of the new album and DVD.
The Prodigy will follow up the release by visiting the US in March 2006.
Keep watching the tour page for confirmation of the dates.
And he said on MTV News yesterday that they would only be playing the East Coast, starting in Miami then visiting Washington and NYC (plus some other places inbetween).
Hope that helps! (y)

What I love about a Prodigy show is everyone who's there is a fan. The audience is completely united in its response to the performance. Everyone is jumping and singing along. It's not like other band's shows, where you get people who come because of the band's name and reputation (Beastie Boys, for example) and just gawk at the performance.
Prodigy shows are fuckin' fun and remind me a lot of the old hardcore days in the U.S., where you'd rock out with fists above your head. I can't wait to see them perform again.
Absolutely (y)
But even people who aren't fans...i mean sorry but it's completely foolish to gawk at a Prodigy show, no matter if you've been dragged along or if you go because of their reputation...you become one of the 'united' fans as you say no matter what.
I went with a mate a few years back, and the entire thing blew him away, and he was as into as I was, simply for the reason you say...everyone else was. I mean 'Their Law', come on...how can that song not get a response from every single person in the room?!
The atmosphere at their gigs is surprisingly unique. I love the Beasties to bits, but as you sorta say (well maybe not, but I'm elaborating anyway) I don't think my mate would've got into say the wembley show this year as much.

Prodigy gigs are about as intense a live experience as you can get nowadays. It's just wonderfully full-on.
