Ok, so last night I saw the movie Dune (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087182/) for the first time and subsequently had an unexpected Beastie Boys-moment.
I guess this is going to spoil the movie for some of you but when Paul says
"The worm is the spice, the spice is the worm" it really made me laugh and Intergalactic was in my head the rest of the movie.

Just sayin'

Yeah, I remember mining spice and looking out for worms in 93 on the Genesis. (y)

Spices of the worm, so they call it in a few strategic places, are known to warm the body, but their Aphrodisiac power has not yet been proven.

pretty sure this wuz mentioned already somewhere else...but when i wuz watching "meet the parents" on tv, and in that one scene, when ben stiller closes the door, there's a beastie boys poster on it!

told my friend and she wuz like "omg! omg that's so awesome! wow!"

mocking me again.... :(

i see references to the beasties everywhere ....here's a post that kinda got lost in beastie-free a long time ago.....

wuz watching 'law and order svu' and one of the guys' names in this particular episode wuz "mike d" i thought it wuz weird.

the other guy wuz "jimmy g" but who cares about that?

oh and they were skateboarders. the guy who played "mike d" wuz pretty cute...like the real one :D

oh and i just thought i'd put it here in this thread becuz it didn't seem too important to make a whole new thread about it.

dang and there's probably a lot of other trivial stuff that remind me of them too...... :p

i'm pretty weird i think....

In White Teeth by Zadie Smith, there's a middle-aged guy who moans about his sons being led astray and wearing VW badges inspired by "these Beetie Boys" and he says if he got hold of them he'd beat them up or something along those lines. The Equalizer also gets a mention. I thought that was pretty cool.
