entertainment of the mind

when we think of reasons or explanations for things in life they dont have to end up being necessarily correct or relate perfectly to the reality. to have the capacity to feel satisfaction in inventing our own personal explanations is something rich in itself and something which we can learn to love.

situations and stories that live only in our minds and through which we can entertain our own self with, to be able to spend a whole day effortlessly and internally debating a scenario in your head and have it take you through the hours, having it be similar to a physical action but the action being only inside your head, with yourself. to consider the action of thinking as directly effective as the physical action, comparable to the hours a ride on a train or fixing the wheels of a broken bycicle we feel would take from our lives. the feeling of effectiveness and gain we get from doing physical things equalling the feeling we get from the act of analyzing.

but this analyzing,it has no consquences, no effects, there are no rules for its truthfulness or logic, the objective being the pure and simple entertainment it gives us. the possibility of it being more than the physical action, the satisfacion we assign to it on our own, only existent and possible in the free world of our minds. if you are capable of receiving high levels of satisfaction from the act of creation and analysis only within yourself, from receiving entertainment far greater than what you can get from a physical action comparable to it, then you have fooled life itself for you have already found it all within the limits of your mind.

the summer wind of european beaches, the cheering with champagne, the speed in a horsepowered car can seem suddenly... less. less than what they promise us, when we, simply as humans with a conscience, have the power to go far and beyond what those things offer
