My plane fare to fly to wherever (probably N.Y. right?) the Beastie Boys last concert will be played.

I'm there like a flash when it's announced.

Hopefully not for years, but it'll be an expensive trip.

As a result I must give a shout to Documad who flew across the planet to see the B-Boys in the southern places.

I'm saving now.

I don't think they would ever announce a "farewell tour". After IC, I was hoping for just one more tour because I didn't think they would tour again. They proved me wrong.

It might be every 5-10 years, but I think they'll continue to play live shows in some capacity.

Flying here isn't too bad from NY, if you do a red eye on jet Blue, it's like 200 round trip I think.

I'm going to be doing nothing but going to the festival so if people are staying in Salt Lake (about 30 min. drive from Park City where the festival is) I will gladly take people to and from the festivities.

I hope I get to meet some other great bboys fans from this, that would be awesome!

You know, my prior statements about them not feelin it are pretty ridiculous when I think about how psyched D was goin through the crowd, like standing on the barricade, hypin people up during Itergalactic. He really seemed to be emphatically soaking up the vibe. Yauch gave a very thoughtful nod to the crowd after Sabotage as well.

Perhaps if the band ever bothered to be offended by anything they could consider that I'm still one of the unfotunates who feels his words don't make any difference, and thus are largely meaningless. Which would aid me in in talking some dumb shit.

But yeah, they were definitely into the encore. And So Watcha Want, when Serj from SOAD came on stage, and Yauch doing the Fuzz break in Gratitude got mad cheers from the crowd.

Festival shows are pretty tough. You have all kinds of people there and everyone's too hammered to pay attention to the show. It's still a good time, but it's not as much fun as being surrounded by superfans.

I'm seriously looking into this to see if I can swing it. I worked on a client's vacation home up at Alta a few years back, working/snowboarding/working. Them were good site visits... anyhow, I got familiarized with the area then and could easily see myself dashing up there. Off to check the finances and work schedule!
