and how many of these family are their situations the result of bad money management decisions, high taxes (not just income per property, etc), as well as bad personal decisions (drug use, alcoholism, etc)
at some point personal responsibility needs to come into play...

bumfights is the underbelly of the capitalistic society we americans live in...
of course, i am sure they probably failed to have been properly licensed for boxing promotions, and failed to meet the regulatory requirements for boxing promoters, and its a pretty safe bet the fighters did not have boxing licenses,
so i would have consulted with an attorney prior to producing bumfights had it been my venture, but nobody forced these bums to particpate in it...

They took desperate people and asked them to do things for alcohol, food and money.
Free will doesn't really apply here.
Do you reckon it's morally correct to do such a thing?

That would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. You read an article about people begin laid off from their jobs, and your reaction is "Well maybe they should take more personal responsibility." I highly doubt that these people chose to lose their jobs, man. But of course I'd never ask you to question the merits of a system where people ALWAYS SUCCEED if they just WORK HARD ENOUGH.
Jesus, aren't you embarrassed to post this kind of drivel sometimes?

Many of the homeless are mentally unstable in downtown los angeles and/or hooked on drugs.
Personal choices and all.
