I'm probably one of the messiest people you will ever know.

It's too bad that things like that are very charming as personality traits in films or books sometimes, but in real life they are just annoying and stupid.

I think we should have a contest on this one...and I should win...however I'd like to use my room from circa 1989-1992. I have picture proof that I had the most disgusting mess ever concocted at that time. My rooms have been plenty messy since but 89-92 was the worst. I don't even know what color the carpet was cause I never saw it.

anyway... I purpose we take the messy room contest over to sure shots and see who is really Pigpen on this board! (y)

That's not a bad idea, if I can find a camera. I don't know if some people would still be my friends after seeing it though :(

okay i'm gonna give a tidbit of the nastiness

I have an old cup of something that was hot chocolate, it's about two weeks old, and it's rotting, inches away, and it smells.

my room is awful, i've got so much crap in here. most of it is useless, but i'm not going to throw it away. i am a hoarder. i also have all the crap that my brother hoarded and gave to me when he moved out.

sometimes theres a clean spot on the floor and my bed is made.

but open a cupboard and everything falls out.

so much stuff.

Rotting food=disgusting.

But nothing smells worse than a room where a girl has masturbated like a million times and not changed the sheets and shit. Rank as fuck. (n)

filthy sluts masturbating all over their sheets i know exactly what you're talking about it's disgusting and belive you me i have to put with that kind of stuff a lot

my room's pretty messy, but it's not as bad as it looks. most of the shit on my floor is just clothing (clean, save a few socks, sometimes i'm too lazy to hang it), books, bits of paper, cd cases, empty boxes of things...food waste is where i draw the line, i'm a neat freak about food. dishes too, if there's one thing i can't stand, it's a crusty dish. just soak that shit right after you're done using it, problem solved

My room used to be super-messy. Now it's just sort-of messy. I just finished unpacking my boxes and throwing away crap I don't need (and I moved in about 14 years ago).

I'm not even going to put up photos, cuz it's sorta embarrassing.

am i the only person who doesn't make their bed in the morning? i never have. both my parents work so i never had to make it in the morning.

what's the point? when you go back to sleep it gets messed up? i hate having tight sheets. i want them loose so i can manipulate them into my position.

hell no, i don't make the bed in the morning for the same reason you mentioned. maybe if i have company coming i'll make it, but that hasn't happened yet, so no, i don't make the bed, ever

People would cringe at my room...I'm not going to go into too much detail so as not to many anyone sick.

I've lived here since July and I haven't finished unpacking, I still have boxes everywhere.

I never make my bed. Why the fuck bother, I spend maybe 10 hours a day in my house, 9 of em sleeping. When do I have time to make my bed? It's only gonna get fucked up anyways.

I am messy, but clean. My kitchen and bathroom have to be very clean. I never have dishes, etc. because I have a fear of attracting animals even though it could not/would not ever happen.

I do have a horrible habit of starting something and not finishing it. I came home Sunday night and opened my suitcase and started unpacking things as I need them. So I took out my toothbrush and toothpaste, but not my extra earrings and tennis shoes. I immediately did my laundry though (because that's a clean thing). It would take me a good 5 minutes to finish unpacking and put the suitcase away. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow.

My most common problem is that I sort things (winter clothes, old papers) and then leave them in stacks. I swear to God that some day I will trip over a stack of sweaters on my bedroom floor, wipe out in an unlikely way as I try to break my fall, fracture my leg, and die of embarrassment at having to explain it.

during the summer my bed usually stays made, but thats because i usually sleep on top of most of the sheets, and just use an afghan when i get cold. In fact, i do this more like 9-10 months out of the year, or in the dorms it was consistant because those places were hot as fuck.

my room is really messy right now for me, because im sort of a neat freak in a way. i can let some things just lay around, but other things drive me nuts.

i make it a point to clean my dishes, and put most of my more regularlyused items where they "belong"

but then i have somet things that never get done. like the poster thats been in the roll since july, the random stacks of papers and books all over the place, and some loose clothing that i just havent figured out where to put yet

yeah, that's pretty much what i do. i'm quick about my dishes and food, i keep my dirty laundry in the right place, i try to keep track of important things like keys and ID cards and money, but everything else i just kind of spread about. it's my organizational method. where can i put this so i'll find it later if i need it? hmm....how about the floor? where's my philosophy book? hmm, i'll just check the floor- ah, there it is!

the floor is basically a low, flat, shelf where i keep everything i need. you can't lose something if it's in plain sight. it's when you start putting things away that you risk losing it.

I never "make" my bed. One of the first things I bought after getting my first job was a duvet that I could fluff and leave on top of the fitted sheet.

Duvets were crazy European things that were hard to come by when I was a girl. I paid a fortune for my first one. Other girls bought clothes.

But have you ever wiped out because you stepped on a magazine? That's when I have to do something with the piles.

no, i'm careful to leave a sort of sidewalk of carpet so that i can navigate from my chair to my bed to my door. those are basically the only three areas i ever need to get to in my room and it's not very big.

i just throw the doona cover over my bed before i leave for work. i spend a lot of time sitting on my bed and also it makes my room look neater. i don't "make" anything :)

i don't even do this. right now, it's still half off the bed and upside down.

ps. for those who don't know doona=duvet

and i have a fitted sheet on the bottom, and until this year i've never had a top sheet. i have a top sheet now cos its summer and i just decided that i wanted one.

my parents never made me make my bed, something i loved about them. they never made me eat anything i didn't like either. :)

i didn't put the doona cover on the bed this morning, so i know when i get home and walk into my room its going to look messy :(

and every single chair is covered with clothes. :(

i got the whole pack rat thing from my great-grandma. my mom finally went through my room with several trash bags and threw stuff away a few months back. she said, "if you haven't looked at it in over two years, you probably don't need it."

still...i didn't want to part with all my Hot Bead creations :(

My fitted sheets never stay on for more than a few days, I move around too much in my sleep and the fitted sheet ends up fitted around me rather than the bed. But my room isnt too messy, theres always some dirty clothes on the floor though and I have some gigantic wardrobes that are packed with books, old school work, clean clothes from like 5 years ago, empty boxes from tv's, comptuers etc...that sort of crap.

I really do need to do that. My problem is stuff that other people have given me. But I seriously, never use or look at half of it. I should at least put it away in a box or something, for nostalgia purposes only.

ahh well my bed sort of sinks in the middle so non fitted sheets don't stay on. i found the trick with fitted sheets was to buy one too large for my bed (ie. a queen size) so its fitted, but theres extra material to tuck under and now they don't really pop off like the old fitted sheets used to.

i hate how expensive manchester is (n)

A rich friend of mine was walking through myers with me and she wanted to buy a $500 jag bed set. I was like "jag makes manchester now!?!", and fucken expensive manchester because all it was was a doona cover, pillow covers and sheets. I mean christ. It was probably made in some sweatshop for 5 bucks.

It just makes the room look more set and orderly. I always make my bed, smooth the duvet and plmp the pillows and stuff. I don't like sleeping in a cluttered room neither, even if I get home late I won't sleep until my room is immaculate.

I don't think you want to be like that Dandy. :s

I recently reorganised my room and moved literally every piece of furniture I have. My shelves were a mess so I took everything out and put stuff back properly. The side effect of this is that it takes up way more and I'm left with stacks of books, papers, game boxes and old toys...

They are currently piled on my desk, on the floor and I even have four boxes of old hardware (old pci/isa/etc cards, cd/dvd/cdr drives, zip, casefans and tons more hardware) that's just basically lying there.

I suck.

(no rotting food in my room though, sheesh!)

in my house everything has a home. ya know a place that its suppose to be, and most of the time everything is in its home but lately, mostly on the weekends, everything is visiting another thing, so sometimes its hard to find stuff. i usually keep my dishes done. (its easy i have a dishwasher) the thing i'm bad at is laundry. i usually do one load of laundry a day (just to keep up) but my problem is folding! the clean clothes stay in the dryer or on top of the dryer or sometimes they get forgotten about in the washer, then i have to re-wash them. its such a waste! i hang up the stuff thats suppose to be hung up but its this folding thing! i cant do it. and i only make my bed when i know someone is comming over! whats the point if no one but me is going to see it, right?
:)
