Exactly. I think it suits governments very well to have people distracted by the notions of 'alien spacecraft'.
A few months ago we (my co workers and I) were involved in quite a bit of research about aliens, as we've got a special exhibition on . Part of the exhibition deals with the sociopsychological issues surrounding people's need/willingness to believe in things like alien visitation and conspiracies thereof, and then the other part handles the astrobiological conditions and implications of alien life. It was interesting research to do, I quite enjoyed it.
At the end of the day, I think it's highly highly probable that life exists out there somewhere (my bet for the closest we'd likely find anything is somewhere beneath the ice on Europa). But as far as alien 'visitation', I think it's a complete psychological construct, partially based on real physical phenomena that seems otherwise inexplicable on the surface but is actually physiologically based (for example, that feeling many 'abductees' report of feeling unable to move, like a weight is on their chest, or percieving eyes looking down at them). Before is was aliens, it was vampires, succubi, incubi, etc etc.

well,i do believe that the the richess nation in the world are able to have flight plane that have the potential of alien spacecrafts.During,ww2,the german where able to make works the antigravity propulsion system.So i imagine the usa are far way beyond that interm of technology.

i'm of the fairly popular view that there's probably intellegent life out there SOMEWHERE (the universe is just way too huge for us to be alone), but the chances of it ever having contacted us are quite small. not impossible, just unlikely.
i want to believe, but i'm not sure i do.
didn't the roswell thing turn out to be a spy balloon, or something? i heard they declassified some documents and it turned out to be....something that had to do with us spying on russia, or maybe them spying on us, i honestly don't remember and i don't care to look it up.
anyways i'm sure the government hides things from us, but i don't know that alien contact is one of those things.
most of my knowledge on this subject comes from watching UFO shows on the history channel by the way, so don't take me for much worth.

It's much more simple than we've been led to believe. The Freemasons used the Holy Grail (actually an extraterrestrial communication device discovered within the Great Pyramid by the Knights Templar) to contact aliens who arrived on earth and assumed the form of Jewish businessmen. These visitors then took control of higher government positions, Mafia organizations, and unions (like the Teamsters) in order to direct American industry to the purpose of recovering the massive interstellar war machine submerged in the "Atlantis Incident" eons ago during a pan-galactic war. I don't think that people who believe they have been abducted are all neccessarily crazy, no. Some of them may well be, but not all. What I do think is that have experienced a complex set of physiological phenomena that they then have to integrate into their psyche, and we all have to work within our own frame of reference - in other words, our own construct of what reality "is". I am sure that these people really believe that they have been abducted. However, that's because the stories of 'abduction' fit a pattern they have created. One of our human frailties it the tendency towards a series of thought patterns known as "cognitive bias", and that act of grouping together unrelated symptoms/occurrences/events etc is a very common cognitive bias.

It's too bad to see that most the comments here were made by contentious fools. It's hard to believe that so many unchecked biters have the gall to come here.
I watched Walt Disney's "Aliens of the Deep" last night where a group of astro, oceanographic, and a myriad of other scientists explored life at 3000 meters in both the Pacific and Atlantic. It walked through the understanding of the current missions to Mars, and one of Jupiter's moons, Uropa, where two times the amount of water earth has is solid ice. Since water is a main source of life, what could possibly be below the surface?!! Immensely inspiring. There are so many miraculous aspects/ elements to life. In fact, one theory was that Mars may have dried up when a big enough comet or meteor hit it blasting particles and debris into space. At the time, life may have been warming up on the planet and organisms in the fragments may have made it to earth... and developed making us part Martian. In any case, it's a wonderful film. Check it out if you get the chance. As for the Aztecs and other ancient civilizations, there's a few books that were written in the 70's that are pretty thought provoking to say the least. One is called "Chariots of the God's?" written by Erich Von Daniken. It's old and perhaps a bit cheesy, hence the title, never the less...
It infuriates me to no end to have seen and known such intelligence, technical and otherwise, and the potential this world has to offer only for it all to be executed (the terminal sense of the word) or sabotaged by a profoundly stupid and corrupt ruling class time and time again. It doesn't make any good sense at all. If evil aliens wanted to destroy this world in a slow, hellish way, they literally couldn't do a better job than what Bush has done. In order to cross the vast distances that seperate our planet from the nearest star, let alone the rest of the Universe, a Visitor would need to exceed the speed of light, or be able and willing to spend the thousands or even millions of years it would take to make the journey, d'accord?
In order to exceed light speed, you need to be composed of something which can cope with the physical changes which occur at such speeds. Einstein said that it's not possible to exceed the speed of light, not if you are composed of atoms and exist in three spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension, at any rate. He's been right so far...
So, if there do happen to be Aliens, who are able to exceed the speed of light and travel through space, they would need to exist in other dimensions, in order to do so. Which means that when they got here (assuming they have a reason to come), we wouldn't be able to see them, because they would still be somewhere else.
I think you'll find that the concept of aliens is more the product of Wishful Thinking and that Alien Encounters are more Attention Seeking than actual fact.
But you can carry on believing what you want, you have faith in your convictions and who are we to criticise you for having faith?

Einstein said its not possible to exceed the speed of light,here on earth ,with our science,our physics laws!That is true,but who knows what the aliens(if they exists) can do??I mean,if others civilizations exist in the univers,they did not have the same evolution then us.Maybe they find an metal alloy that can withstand the heat at the speed of light.We just cannot know what there science is.MAybe what we , here, cannot find possible,it is for them out there?

So, if there do happen to be Aliens, who are able to exceed the speed of light and travel through space, they would need to exist in other dimensions, in order to do so. Which means that when they got here (assuming they have a reason to come), we wouldn't be able to see them, because they would still be somewhere else.
Yes ,i know what you mean but maybe there is some kind of interstelar passage way,like kind of highway of the space :D So they traveled at the speed of light in thoses intergalactic passages, push the pedal,travel,when they arrive at destination,they break.MAybe they have space crafts that have break!?Who knows?We cannot take science laws and apply them to the "aliens",because we dont know how they evolve,one thing for shure,they did not evolve like us!
I think you'll find that the concept of aliens is more the product of Wishful Thinking and that Alien Encounters are more Attention Seeking than actual fact.

There is really scientific facts that show that ohters species visited us,that proove that there is something that we can not comprehend that manifest here!

Another basic example,is the crop circle,who do thoses perfect mathematics designs(mathematiciens analyse thoses circle and ikts perfect mathematic formula) in the farmer field?The composites of the ground show that it has
been submits to a high heat from an unknow source ,and they found rocks that are not relate to earth!?So what is the deal?And this crop circle happens all around the world too!So wishfulthinking,nan,maybe more the products of a certain reality,possibility!

Yep. It's now called sleep paralysis and is recognised as a sleep disorder - inability to move, a weight on the chest, presences in the room with you, often frightening, sometimes just sensed, sometimes actually seen and so real that some sufferers just plain refuse to believe its a hallucination.
Like you say it probably explains stories of ghosts, vampires and all manner of superstition over the centuries.
Having said that, it's entirely possible (and I'm not saying it's true) that we are being observed by aliens. Give it a few centuries and we could be doing the same as the aliens are supposed to be doing here. Space travel could have advanced to a point where we have discovered an intelligent lifeform which is further back in it's stage of development than us and, if we're any wiser by that time, probably try not to interfere and maybe lift the odd one for analysis and research either that or to stick stuff up its butt for the porn industry.

Just saw on discovery another roswell documentary,nOw you got thoses fervent alien believer /scientific who comb the area where the alien crash happened!I found them really brave tho,they are trying to find any residus from the crash.But the thing is that when its occured(the crash)a team from the army just sweap the area with volunteer to eradicate any prooof of the incident!So they digg like archeologist!I said good luck to them!
And another thing about this is when its happened the press release the news of an alien crash but the next day they changed it to a balloune!!

If aliens are/were powerful enough to "warn off" the superpowers from further moon exploration or colonization in the 1970's, why aren't they powerful enough to have stopped the pursuit of such technology to reach the moon in the first place?

I think that the cover up is being lead by French Canadian scientists who have been using alien technology to keep pretty much every government on the world from conquering the "country". Why haven't they used this technology to take over the world???
