I'm in the club, I have the card, but I don't know when the next meeting is. I have been secretly saving thousands of dollars each time I shop for groceries.
Anybody else in the club? I've met quite a few acquaintances at the cashiers line. Many, like me, are buying foodstuff.
OK, see at the store. (y)

I was a bad Rainbow Foods member. I never registered my card. I don't like the idea of being tracked. I got the discount on vitamins though. They had fresh produce for cheap. I miss Rainbow. :(
I don't know how widespread Cub Foods is, but it's a shithole grocery chain. Somehow they convince people to put "I (heart) my Cub" bumperstickers on their cars. I've always wondered what the people get for sporting the bumperstickers because I'd rather die than be branded with Cub's logo. It's like saying you heart Wal-mart.

Fact: Safeway has the best bagels and cakes, which leads me to believe they have a superior bakery.

They do have a teamsters bakers here in WA. ST. A friend of mine works at the Bellevue WA. Safeway distribution center and he's a baker....making the "Big Dough".
I've gone over there before at 0400 hours knocking on semi-truck doors asking if the dude want's his truck offloaded for $50-$75, lumping. Lumpers (http://www.skaggmo.addr.com/lumpers.htm) are cool.
I think our local Safeway Club is going to have a rave this weekend for cardholders only. It would be cool if Club members got special carts and baskets, you know all souped up and shit.

I made it to the second interview with Sam's Club but didn't make the final cut...now I'll never know the joys of shopping for mayonnaise and other fine products in bulk, how embarrassing.

The cool people are all at Costco anyway. I wonder what you have to do to be a "gold" member.

They should have a law that requires you can never throw away a card once you put it in your wallet. Man there would be some fat wallets for sale.

They're all wearing Kirkland jeans. To get the Gold membership you have to pay extra, but you can use the forklift on asswipe buying day.

That would be so funny as if you ment Rave as in eletronica music and rainbow lights flashing off everywhere and people passing around drugs..
just think of it, all the safeway club members in the safeway store ravin out :p

haha. this thread is so cute. i was at safeway last saturday night. the first time in over a year. so glad the ex's card still works - i was so scared that i wouldn't get the member discount. so scared. i couldn't stand the thought of the government not being able to track my alcohol-buyin' ass...

my british self is confused.
we, too, have safeways over here which are supermarkets. altho a lot of them are closing down cos they're a bit shit and overpriced etc etc.
and we also have loyalty schemes.
but they're no biggie. and you certaintly don't GET money for having a card. you earn points the more you buy and then you can get more money off the next time you shop - you have to speculate to accumulate!
me, i shop at somerfield's (formerly morrisons formerly safeways) and they have a card but, weirdly, while there are offers for cardholders (buy one get one free etc) it is totally random if the coupon machine will spew out an offer for your next purchase that is unique to you! how cool is that? each day i buy something i wait with baited breath to see if i will get a wee strip of paper saving me 20pence the next time i buy £5 worth of hummus or something.
also the more you use it the more chance you have of winning that trip to new york or mini cooper or whatever. i'm up for a gamble. everyone else is shopping at tesco's.
