i'm at work at the moment (filming 1200-0000:yawn) and have nothing else to do or talk about as there's nothing really to contribute to and sleep is always on my mind.

god, i love it.
when i was little i remember seeing some indiana jones film where indy falls asleep almost instantly on a train or something and being like "NOWAYMUM can that actually happen!". to which she assured me it can.
now i know this to be true.
sometimes i am so exhausted i just feel really faint whenever i stand up.
and other times when i am really tired i get really emotional and hormone-y and WATCH OUT, she's gonna cry.

my favourite time is friday where i can drink cider and know that i don't have to set an alarm for 0515 the following day. aaaah. lying in is SUCH a divine luxury.

yet.. when i was unemployed i slept too much and felt really cack and disgusting. your body just feels really gross. you're inside all day. because you have nothing to do you you go to bed really late after doing nothing and sleep really late and the cycle just goes on overandover.

doing all night essays at university is a total mindfuck. you go past the phase of being tired at about 2amish and then just enter staring-at-laptop oblivion. zoned out. crazy. the shakes start at about 5.30 and you can almost scrape the coffee and sugar shit off your teeth. gah! i guess i'd rather be tired working than tired trying to get an essay done in time..

i like sleeping on my own and i do not like being spooned. i like stretching out and not having some sweaty boyfriend all up in my junk. remember that, people, hug me - then swiftly go off to your side of the bed for the remainder of the night. and don't even think of breathing in my direction either. i hate it when you're both facing the centre of the bed and you are awoken by the hot breath of someone sleeping open-mouthed facing you! GAH! go away!

i sound like a bitch but i'm exaggerating. but not really.

i love sleep.
that is all.
oh, and also that i am really looking forward to picking up a parma ham and rocket pizza and some feta salad and watching the madonna documentary.

i really need to pass the time so i need some stimulation, dudes.

how can you not like spooning? it's the best part of the day!

the thing about sleeping really late is you wake up all nappy and feel eucchh for a long time. and naps rule, but again, you wake up feeling gross and can't sleep until really late that night.

sleep is great. but i've always had trouble falling asleep. it takes me at least an hour. and yet when steger's head hits the pillow, he's out. i wish i could be like that.

ahh, napping. a sign of getting older if ever there was one.
or turning into a cat.

i really liked it at school when i got up and dressed etc then you heard on the radio that school was cancelled cos of severe weather conditions or something crazy and you could go back to bed! returning to sleep is such bliss.

anyone else get this horrible stomach hungry-but-not-really pain if they get up super early? i used to get it when i was getting up to go on the ferry to the mainland at like 5am-ish. ugh.

sometimes i remember my dreams.
i should really know more about this as i do have a degree in psychology and film and television after all!
you remember them more if you are woken up at a certain stage of sleep. that's why in dream experiments they periodically shake the person awake to recall their dreams - this way you get the most detail.
generally i don't as i am such a deepdeep sleeper!

i am the IDEAL person to sleep next to. really quiet and still and keeping to myself.

waking up on a non-work day thinking it's a work day then realising is one of the best feelings a human can experience, second to getting head for 2 hours solid

i'm a very light sleeper. i dream pretty much every night and usually remember it later on in the day when something reminds me of it. and the slightest noise can wake me up...i'm almost always the one who wakes up and feels the tiniest of earthquakes.

i don't really snore, but i do sometimes if i'm sitting up or in a weird position. a couple times so loud i woke myself up. :o

earthquakes! awesome!
actually i am quite a conundrum.
i do sleep really, really deeply but if i hear subconsciously something that annoys me (namely a flatmate on the phone in the middle of the night yapping away to a friend) it awakes me up immediately.
maybe i'm just really anal.

You know, you kinda took the scenic route getting to this little request of yours. I mean all you had to do was ask. You didn't have to preface it with an essay on sleeping. But I commend you for your consideration. Quite often people just make threads with titles like, "I"M BORED! MAKE ME LAUGH! DO IT NOW!" and leave it at that. Like their time and effort is so much more valuable than everyone elses. Usually it's some lame ass that barely contributes anything remotely interesting, themselves. I mean, how weak is that? Someone that spends their time here making threads about their eating habits and the last time they got laid by something other than their own imagination is gonna ask everybody else to entertain THEM? But again, you were thoughtful enough to offer something before making any such demands. That's what it should all be about; give and take. Too often people here just take take take and get to LOL their fat asses off without returning the favor ever. Well, they can go feast on a bag of deep-fried horse scrotums as far as I'm concerned. J-Lo's love may not cost a thing, but mine comes with a price tag that very few of you lazy ass bitches can afford. Holla.

Btw, I sleep between 4-5 hours a night.

i can't work out whether you are being sarcastic or honest, nice or nasty but i laughed at it anyway so thanks for that. i do want to be stimulated but i figured since there is nothing here that i really wanted to contribute to i might as well start off a wee discussion about sleeping since, well, it's common to us all and i was quite engrossed in looking forward to it tonight.
actually your post is the highlight of my day. i am taking it as you being entertaining and observing. i am too tired to really think straight - i read it about four times. this is how bored i am.
i like you. you can come to mine for pizza. thanks.

I meant it as a sincere compliment. I'm honestly glad that there are still a few people on this board that are willing to bring a little bit of engaging discourse to the table before making such pompous demands. You're basically saying, look, I'm soooo bored that I'm going to try to entertain YOU and if you'd be so kind, I'd really like it if you could try to return the favor. Most people are just like, "Oh yeah pleasure me, do it, yeah, like that...okay I'm done. Gotta go, thanks!" You're obviously the kind of person that sticks around and makes waffles for people in the morning.

zippo, this is a BYOB kinda function. Nobody's mooching off mickill no more. You should have the same attitude as yours truly because we've been handing out too many freebies.

Yeah, something like that.

But not putting people to sleep in say the same way that Jabumbo might...more by entertaning them first.

I am the same way. My boyfriend used to be a bit sad with the fact that I didn't want to spoon while sleeping but now he is used to it. I just wish the bed was bigger so I can sprawl out more.

Oh, and feta rules.

mickill. you are my new favourite person. please and thank you.

on the sleeping note, last night i went to bed at about 3am - bad idea. too much wine. and then fucking flatmate got me out of bed at 5 to let him in cos he'd left his keys. and i had to get up 7. i do feel really shit today, and i'm meant to be going out for dinner. ugh. but, hey, nothing that a greggs sausage roll and a bottle of irn-bru won't change eh?!

Hah, this is what I've been doing for the past 3 weeks, no joke, avoiding this paper. Every single night I will stay up, not writing it till like 6 a.m., then I'll lay down "just for a second" and wake up at 12 when my class is already over.

na§tee
12-02-2005, 05:09 AM
get it done.
i did that a lot but i knew the pain of sticking it out and doing it in one marathon session was ultimately better than blatantly doing nothing on it each night and ending up having to do it all the night before anyway.
do it and then reward yourself with something lovely!
the feeling of going to bed not having to worry about anything when you wake up is just the best. sometimes essays/reports etc hurt like a motherfucker, but they've got to be churned out somehow!

it's best not to take naps cos your body just skips like stage 1/2 sleep and enters into crazytown shit. you feel more tired when you wake up, actually. and stay away from the coffee - jesus i can't drink that shit anymore cos it reminds me so much of studying. if i had to do it again it would be lucozade and toast all the way woot! snacking on something like carrot batons and hummus is good, too.

no no no. see our initial exchange. this was about a year ago.

i brought it back to life because i was having a conversation about sleeping and how much i love it so with the like-minded-in-sleeping tal.

Don't even get me started on sleeping. Brett can vouch for how much I sleep. Holy crap. Ever since I was a baby too, I slept for the first 3 days they brought me home and then they had to take me back to the doctor. Oh man do I love sleep.

I can leave my friend's house at 10pm and be sure that at 4pm the next day she will still be napping away in between fag and wee breaks!

And I don't mean "small" breaks now Claire. I mean number ones in the toilet, nah mean?
